أعلن المدافع الألماني جيروم بواتينغ اعتزاله كرة القدم رسمياً، وذلك بعد انتهاء تجربته الأخيرة مع نادي لاسك النمساوي.
وقال الدولي الألماني السابق في مقطع فيديو نشره عبر حسابه على موقع «إنستغرام»: «لقد لعبت لفترة طويلة، مع أندية كبيرة، ولمنتخب بلادي. تعلمت كثيراً، وفزت وخسرت، ومنحتني كرة القدم الكثير».
وأضاف صاحب الـ37 عامًا: «الآن، حان وقت المضي قدماً، ليس لأنني مضطر، بل لأنني مستعد، أنا ممتن لكل شيء: لفريقي، للجماهير، ولكل من دعمني، وعلى رأسهم عائلتي وأولادي الذين كانوا دائماً إلى جانبي، لقد حان الوقت».
مسيرة حافلة بالألقاب
بدأ بواتينغ مسيرته الكروية في صفوف نادي هيرتا برلين، حيث تدرج في أكاديميته قبل أن ينتقل إلى هامبورغ في سن 18 عامًا.
وفي موسم 2010-2011، خاض تجربة قصيرة في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز مع مانشستر سيتي، حيث شارك في 24 مباراة فقط، قبل أن يعود إلى ألمانيا لينضم إلى بايرن ميونيخ.
خلال مسيرته مع العملاق البافاري، حقق بواتينغ 25 لقباً، وكان أحد أعمدة الفريق في الدفاع على مدار سنوات.
وبعد رحيله عن بايرن في عام 2021، لعب بواتينغ لفترات قصيرة مع كل من ليون الفرنسي، وساليرنيتانا الإيطالي، وأخيراً لاسك النمساوي.
دولياً، خاض بواتينغ 76 مباراة مع المنتخب الألماني، وسجّل هدفاً واحداً، وكان أحد العناصر الأساسية في تتويج ألمانيا بلقب كأس العالم 2014، بعد الفوز على الأرجنتين في النهائي.
The German defender Jerome Boateng has officially announced his retirement from football, following the end of his last stint with Austrian club LASK.
The former German international said in a video posted on his Instagram account: "I have played for a long time, with great clubs, and for my national team. I learned a lot, won and lost, and football has given me so much."
The 37-year-old added: "Now, it's time to move on, not because I have to, but because I am ready. I am grateful for everything: to my team, to the fans, and to everyone who supported me, especially my family and my children who have always been by my side. It’s time."
A Career Full of Titles
Boateng began his football career at Hertha Berlin, where he progressed through their academy before moving to Hamburg at the age of 18.
In the 2010-2011 season, he had a brief stint in the Premier League with Manchester City, where he played only 24 matches, before returning to Germany to join Bayern Munich.
During his time with the Bavarian giant, Boateng won 25 titles and was one of the team's key defensive pillars over the years.
After leaving Bayern in 2021, Boateng had short spells with both French club Lyon and Italian club Salernitana, and finally with LASK in Austria.
Internationally, Boateng played 76 matches for the German national team, scoring one goal, and was a key player in Germany's victory in the 2014 World Cup, after defeating Argentina in the final.
