أعلن الاتحاد الدولي للدراجات، يوم الثلاثاء، إيقاف رئيس الاتحاد البلغاري إفجيني جيرجانوف، ونائبه دانييل أنجيلوف، لمدة عامين، على خلفية ارتكابهما مخالفات أخلاقية.
وجاء في بيان صادر عن الاتحاد أن لجنة الأخلاقيات المستقلة توصلت إلى أن أنجيلوف تورط في التلاعب بنتائج عدد من المنافسات، ووجه إساءات لفظية لأشخاص من الوسط الرياضي.
وبحسب ما أوردته وكالة الأنباء السعودية، فقد كشفت التحقيقات أن أنجيلوف أجرى تعديلات غير قانونية على قوائم انطلاق السباقات، وعبث بتوقيتاتها، كما منح امتيازات غير مستحقة لعدد من الرياضيين، في انتهاك واضح لمبدأ العدالة في المنافسات.
وتشمل العقوبة، التي يمكن الطعن بها أمام محكمة التحكيم الرياضي، منع المسؤولَين من تولي أي مناصب في اتحادات الدراجات أو المشاركة في تنظيم الفعاليات ذات الصلة باللعبة.

The International Cycling Union announced on Tuesday the suspension of Bulgarian Federation President Evgeni Gerganov and Vice President Daniel Angelov for two years due to ethical violations.
In a statement issued by the union, it was revealed that the independent ethics committee found Angelov involved in manipulating the results of several competitions and verbally abusing individuals in the sports community.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, investigations uncovered that Angelov made illegal modifications to race start lists, tampered with their timings, and granted unwarranted privileges to several athletes, in clear violation of the principle of fairness in competitions.
The penalty, which can be appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, includes preventing the officials from holding any positions in cycling federations or participating in organizing events related to the sport.
