كشف تقرير صحفي سبب غياب النجم البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو، لاعب نادي النصر، عن جنازة مواطنه ديوغو جوتا، لاعب ليفربول، التي أُقيمت اليوم (السبت).
وبحسب صحيفة «ميرور»، فإن رونالدو كان حذراً من الظهور في بلدة جوندومار الصغيرة بالقرب من بورتو، خوفاً من أن يطغى وجوده على وداع زميله في المنتخب.
وأضافت الصحيفة أن رونالدو فضل البقاء بعيداً عن الأضواء في الأيام الأخيرة، محاطاً بعائلته.
وكان جوتا (28 عاما) قد لقي مصرعه مع شقيقه أندريه في حادثة سير وقعت الخميس الماضي في مقاطعة زامورا شمال غرب إسبانيا.
وأعرب رونالدو عن صدمته وحزنه العميق عبر منشور على حساباته في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، حيث كتب: «لا أصدق ما حدث.. كنا معاً في المنتخب منذ أيام قليلة، ثم تزوج للتو».
وأضاف: «إلى عائلتك، زوجتك وأطفالك، أرسل خالص التعازي وأتمنى لهم كل القوة في العالم، أعلم أنك ستكون حاضراً في قلوبهم دائماً، ارقدا في سلام، ديوغو وأندريه، سنفتقدكما كثيراً».
A news report revealed the reason for the absence of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, the Al Nassr player, from the funeral of his compatriot Diogo Jota, the Liverpool player, which took place today (Saturday).
According to the "Mirror" newspaper, Ronaldo was cautious about appearing in the small town of Gondomar near Porto, fearing that his presence would overshadow the farewell to his national team colleague.
The newspaper added that Ronaldo preferred to stay away from the spotlight in recent days, surrounded by his family.
Jota (28 years old) lost his life along with his brother Andre in a car accident that occurred last Thursday in the Zamora province in northwest Spain.
Ronaldo expressed his shock and deep sadness through a post on his social media accounts, where he wrote: "I can't believe what happened... We were together in the national team just a few days ago, and he just got married."
He added: "To your family, your wife, and your children, I send my heartfelt condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be present in their hearts. Rest in peace, Diogo and Andre, we will miss you greatly."
