The English club Arsenal announced today the termination of its contract with Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, by mutual agreement between the two parties.

The club clarified, in a statement published on its official website, that the 26-year-old player will leave the team after three years spent at Arsenal, since joining from Italian club Bologna in 2021.

Tomiyasu played 84 matches with Arsenal in various competitions; however, the recurring injuries he suffered over the past two seasons affected his number of appearances, as he played as a substitute in only one match during the past season 2024 - 2025.

Arsenal finished last season in second place in the Premier League table, with a total of 74 points.
