مصر تدعو لتسوية سياسية شاملة في السودان

The Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Atti emphasized the importance of respecting the principle of Sudanese ownership of the political solution, affirming his country's steadfast position supporting the unity of Sudan, its sovereignty, and the integrity of its territory and national institutions.

During the reception of the personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Sudan, Pekka Haavisto, today (Monday), Abdel Atti discussed the developments of the Sudanese crisis, as well as the regional and international efforts made to halt the escalation and support de-escalation pathways.

Abdel Atti stressed the importance of supporting stability and ending the conflict in Sudan, which contributes to reaching a comprehensive political settlement that preserves the country's sovereignty and meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, stability, and development.

Both sides also affirmed the importance of respecting Sudan's sovereignty and supporting efforts aimed at achieving de-escalation and reaching a comprehensive political settlement, in addition to ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid and alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people.

For his part, the personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Sudan praised Egypt's supportive role for the security and stability of Sudan, and the efforts undertaken by Egypt at both the regional and international levels to contribute to ending the crisis.

Haavisto confirmed the UN's commitment to continue coordination and consultation with Egypt, which contributes to ending the conflict and supporting efforts aimed at achieving stability in Sudan.
