Amid the ongoing crimes of the Houthi terrorist militia against civilians on the western coast, including the abduction of several individuals, one of whom is a journalist, the Yemeni armed forces announced today (Sunday) that they targeted the militia's barracks and positions in the Al-Sudaa and Al-Mun'im mountains in the Al-Dabab area west of Taiz.
The Yemeni armed forces' media center clarified that the warplanes carried out three airstrikes targeting the militia's positions and barracks in Al-Sudaa Hill and Al-Mun'im Mountain on the Al-Dabab front, showcasing new footage of airstrikes that targeted the militia's positions and vehicles in the killing box in the Al-Mokha and Dhobab areas on the western coast.
In this context, member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Al-Arada, confirmed that the Presidential Leadership Council and the government have made significant efforts over the past years to achieve peace and preserve lives, offering extensive concessions to end the war and achieve stability. However, the Houthi terrorist militia has led the peace process to a dead end and has imposed the option of war on the Yemeni people once again.
Al-Arada explained in televised statements that the peace efforts have received support from Saudi Arabia, alongside the Sultanate of Oman, the United Nations, and several brotherly and friendly countries, pointing out that the Houthi militia, with its ideas, practices, and subservience to Iran, has rejected peace efforts and returned Yemen to the square of war.
He emphasized that restoring state institutions and liberating Yemen from the terrorist militia represents a popular will that cannot be reversed, affirming that the armed forces in Marib are focused solely on victory and supporting the Yemeni people and various fronts, with the ultimate goal of the Marib fronts being the restoration of the capital, Sana'a.
Al-Arada described what happened on the western coast as "painful and regrettable," asserting that the field developments cannot divert the compass from the main objective and will not deter Yemenis from continuing their battle.
He noted the arrival of a number of military personnel to Marib and the preparation of a camp for them, in addition to making the necessary arrangements to receive displaced persons from the coast and provide for their needs and secure suitable conditions for them.
Al-Arada stated that those coming from the coast will find in Marib their environment, families, and brothers, affirming that the people of the province will stand by them as equal brothers in rights and duties, pointing out that the forces that withdrew are reorganizing and will return to the battle again "one way or another."
He praised the Saudi positions, confirming that the Kingdom provides significant support to the Yemeni people in various fields, stands by constitutional legitimacy and the will of the Yemeni people, and supports efforts aimed at overcoming the circumstances the country is going through.
He said: "The Saudi support reflects a solid brotherly stance towards Yemen and supports the aspirations of Yemenis to restore their state and achieve security, stability, and prosperity under a just state."
For his part, the Yemeni Prime Minister, Dr. Sha'if Al-Zandani, confirmed during a government meeting that the Houthi escalation is "dangerous and exceeds the Yemeni arena," linking it to an Iranian agenda that uses Yemen and its strategic location to threaten regional security and international navigation, stressing that the difficult field developments should not be understood as an end to the confrontation or a resolution of its course.
On the humanitarian front, the United Nations confirmed the displacement of no less than 76,000 people in Yemen since last July, noting the accelerating pace of displacement with the intensification of fighting between the Houthis and government forces.
The International Organization for Migration warned of a displacement crisis worsening "hour by hour," explaining that a quarter of the displaced were forced to flee during the last week as Houthi attacks escalated.
In Djibouti, authorities announced the arrival of about 1,400 people from Yemen in the past 24 hours amid the Houthi militia's escalation.
In the context of violations, the Houthi militia kidnapped a number of civilians in recent hours, including journalist Sadiq Shali, and took them to an unknown location.
