«اتفاق مكة» يدخل مرحلة جديدة.. السعودية وتركيا وباكستان تعزز الردع والدفاع الجماعي

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan agreed today (Monday) to take further steps to institutionalize their cooperation under the Makkah Agreement, to enhance their solidarity and ensure the credibility and effectiveness of collective deterrence and defense, as well as to contribute to regional efforts and cooperative security to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace.

A joint statement from the political and defense strategic committee of the Makkah Agreement for collective defense confirmed that the foreign ministers, defense ministers, defense forces leaders, and chiefs of general staff from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Turkey, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan met today in Istanbul as part of the strategic political and defense committee established under the Makkah Agreement for collective defense.

The statement said: In light of their commitment to fulfilling their regional responsibilities, the three countries reaffirm their determination to work together under the Makkah Agreement to achieve sustainable peace and stability in their region. To this end, the three countries will continue to support efforts aimed at de-escalation and restraint, encouraging a peaceful resolution of crises.

The statement indicated that the three countries agreed today to take further steps to institutionalize their cooperation under the Makkah Agreement, to enhance their solidarity and ensure the credibility and effectiveness of collective deterrence and defense, as well as to contribute to regional efforts and cooperative security to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace, noting that a secretariat will be established, headed by a Secretary-General, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the work of the three countries under the Makkah Agreement, with the Secretary-General from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan leading the secretariat in its initial phase for a duration of 3 years.

The statement pointed out that the three countries will work through joint activities to enhance their defensive capabilities and the cohesion of their armed forces, through robust cooperation in the field of defense industries and the development of joint production and technologies, emphasizing that through the serious and institutional implementation of the Makkah Agreement, the three countries will make essential contributions to regional peace and stability.
