أكد وزير الداخلية السوري أنس خطاب أن بلاده تسجل اليوم محطة جديدة في مسيرة استعادة مكانتها، مع إزالة اسمها من قائمة الدول الراعية للإرهاب، بعد عمل جاد لإعادة بناء مؤسسات الدولة وتعزيز دورها في حماية أمن مواطنيها ومجتمعها.
وفي تدوينة على منصة «إكس»، قال خطاب: «كان لوزارة الداخلية وجهاز الاستخبارات العامة دور فاعل خلال الفترة الماضية من خلال جهودهما في مكافحة الإرهاب، وملاحقة التنظيمات الإرهابية، وترسيخ سيادة القانون، وبناء مؤسسات أمنية تجعل أمن المواطن وكرامته في صدارة أولوياتها».
وشدد على أن سورية تمضي بثبات نحو مستقبل جديد، من دولة كانت تُوظف مؤسساتها في دعم الإرهاب، إلى دولة تحاربه وتلاحق مرتكبيه، وتعمل بالشراكة مع المجتمع الدولي من أجل واقع أكثر أمناً واستقراراً.
وتوجه وزير الداخلية بالشكر لوزارة الخارجية على جهودها الكبيرة طوال الفترة الماضية ومساهمتها الفاعلة في عودة سورية إلى مكانها الطبيعي بين الدول، ولجميع الشركاء الإقليميين والدوليين على وقوفهم إلى جانب سورية.
وكان مكتب مراقبة الأصول الأجنبية في وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية أعلن مساء أمس (الإثنين) رفع اسم سورية من قائمة الدول الراعية للإرهاب، بعد استكمال الإجراءات القانونية المرتبطة بمراجعة الكونغرس دون تسجيل أي اعتراض.
ورحبت سورية بالقرار، مؤكدة أنه يسهم في دعم جهود التعافي الاقتصادي، وتهيئة الظروف الملائمة لإعادة الإعمار، وتعزيز الاستقرار والأمن فيها وفي المنطقة، بما ينعكس إيجاباً على الشعب السوري ودول الجوار.
The Syrian Interior Minister, Anas Khattab, confirmed that his country is marking a new milestone today in its journey to restore its status, with its name being removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, following serious efforts to rebuild state institutions and enhance their role in protecting the security of its citizens and community.
In a post on the "X" platform, Khattab stated: "The Ministry of Interior and the General Intelligence Directorate played an active role during the past period through their efforts in combating terrorism, pursuing terrorist organizations, reinforcing the rule of law, and building security institutions that prioritize the safety and dignity of the citizen."
He emphasized that Syria is steadily moving towards a new future, transforming from a state that used its institutions to support terrorism to a state that fights it and pursues its perpetrators, working in partnership with the international community for a more secure and stable reality.
The Interior Minister expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its significant efforts over the past period and its effective contribution to Syria's return to its natural place among nations, and to all regional and international partners for standing by Syria.
Yesterday evening (Monday), the Office of Foreign Assets Control at the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the removal of Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, following the completion of legal procedures related to the Congressional review without any objections being registered.
Syria welcomed the decision, affirming that it contributes to supporting economic recovery efforts, creating favorable conditions for reconstruction, and enhancing stability and security within it and in the region, which positively impacts the Syrian people and neighboring countries.
