فيما تؤكد مصادر تجميد الرئيس دونالد ترمب للمفاوضات مع إيران، كشفت وسائل إعلام أمريكية اليوم (الخميس) إقامة الجيش الأمريكي ممراً ملاحياً في مضيق هرمز لنقل الملايين من براميل النفط يومياً.
ونقل موقع «إكسيوس» عن مسؤولين أمريكيين قولهما: إن الجيش الأمريكي أقام ممراً ملاحياً في مضيق هرمز لنقل الملايين من براميل النفط يومياً، في نجاح لافت، حتى مع استمرار حالة الجمود في المسار الأوسع للحرب، مؤكدين أن نحو 10 ملايين برميل من النفط تعبر المضيق يومياً، ويتم ضخها في السوق العالمية، وتقارب هذه الكمية نصف ما كان يعبر من المضيق قبل اندلاع حرب إيران.
وأفاد المسؤولان أنه بينما لا تزال كميات النفط الخارجة من المضيق أقل من مستويات ما قبل الحرب، إلا أنها تُحدث فرقاً ملحوظاً في الإمدادات العالمية، موضحين أن جهود البحرية الأمريكية في المضيق تتجاوز مجرد مرافقة ناقلات النفط المحملة بالنفط أثناء خروجها، إذ تساعد ناقلات النفط الفارغة على دخول الخليج من بحر العرب عبر المضيق، وتحميل النفط من دول المنطقة، ثم الخروج مجدداً.
وقال أحد المسؤولين الأمريكيين للموقع: الولايات المتحدة تسيطر على الممر الجنوبي لمضيق هرمز منذ شهرين الآن، ويمكن للحرس الثوري أن يسبب إزعاجاً، لكنه لا يسيطر على المضيق، فنحن من يسيطر عليه، مبيناً أن القوة المكلفة بالإشراف على جهود تأمين الملاحة في هرمز تدار من مقر قيادة الجيش في فورت براج بولاية نورث كارولاينا ويجري التنسيق مع شركاء إقليميين ووضع يومياً قائمة بالسفن الخارجة من الخليج عبر مضيق هرمز إلى بحر العرب، إلى جانب قائمة بالناقلات الفارغة المستأجرة التي تنتقل من بحر العرب عبر المضيق إلى موانئ دول المنطقة لتحميل المزيد من النفط.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قد قال إنه لا توجد أي محادثات أو اتصالات جارية أو مقررة مع إيران، مضيفاً أن الحصار البحري لا يزال قائماً بالكامل وساري المفعول.
وقالت مصادر في البيت الأبيض لقناة «العربية» إن ترمب أبلغ فريقه التفاوضي أن فرص الاتفاق مع إيران أصبحت ضعيفة، موضحة أن ترمب وجه بتجميد المفاوضات مع إيران لأسابيع مع احتمال تمديدها.
وقالت المصادر إن إدارة ترمب اطلعت على معلومات عن مخطط إيراني لعمليات تتجاوز استهداف السفن، مبينة أن ترمب أبلغ فريقه باحتمال شن هجمات مكثفة على إيران إذا أخفق الضغط الاقتصادي.

The officials indicated that while the quantities of oil exiting the strait are still below pre-war levels, they are making a significant difference in global supplies. They explained that the U.S. Navy's efforts in the strait go beyond merely escorting oil tankers loaded with oil as they exit; they also assist empty oil tankers in entering the Gulf from the Arabian Sea via the strait, loading oil from regional countries, and then exiting again.
One of the U.S. officials told the website: The United States has controlled the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz for two months now, and while the Revolutionary Guard can cause some disruption, it does not control the strait; we are the ones who control it. He noted that the force responsible for overseeing navigation security efforts in Hormuz is managed from the Army's command headquarters at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, coordinating with regional partners and daily compiling a list of ships exiting the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz to the Arabian Sea, along with a list of chartered empty tankers moving from the Arabian Sea through the strait to the ports of regional countries to load more oil.
President Donald Trump had stated that there are no ongoing or scheduled talks or communications with Iran, adding that the maritime blockade remains fully in effect.
Sources in the White House told Al Arabiya that Trump informed his negotiating team that the chances of an agreement with Iran have become weak, clarifying that Trump directed a freeze on negotiations with Iran for weeks, with the possibility of extending it.
The sources indicated that the Trump administration had received information about an Iranian plan for operations that go beyond targeting ships, stating that Trump informed his team of the possibility of launching intensive attacks on Iran if economic pressure fails.
