أعلنت الشرطة الهولندية اليوم (الخميس) وقوع انفجار في ميناء مدينة روتردام، ما أسفر عن مقتل شخص وإصابة آخرين بجروح.
وقالت شرطة روتردام إن سبب الانفجار لا يزال غير معروف، وإن التحقيقات جارية لتحديد ملابساته والوقوف على أسبابه.
ووقع الانفجار بعد وقت قصير من ظهر اليوم (الخميس) في شركة تقع على طريق موزيلفيغ بمنطقة يوروبورت، بحسب هيئة الإذاعة الإقليمية «راينموند».
وذكرت الهيئة أن عدداً من الأشخاص أصيبوا ونُقلوا إلى المستشفى، فيما أُرسلت ست سيارات إسعاف ومروحية طبية وفرق إطفاء إلى موقع الحادثة، مبينة أن فريق صيانة متعاقداً كان يعمل على خطوط أنابيب في الموقع، وأن خللاً ربما وقع أثناء فصل تلك الأنابيب.
وأفادت «راينموند» بأن آثار انفجار كانت ظاهرة على خزان لتخزين المواد.
وفي وقت سابق اليوم، أدى انقطاع للتيار الكهربائي إلى توقف أنظمة في مصفاة «إسو» الواقعة على طريق بوتليكفيغ، ما تسبب في تصاعد ألسنة لهب كبيرة ودخان أسود فوق الميناء أثناء تفريغ خطوط الغاز. وقالت هيئة السلامة في روتردام-راينموند إنها لم تحدد بعد ما إذا كانت الحادثتان مرتبطتين.
وتواصل فرق الطوارئ والجهات المختصة عملياتها في موقع الانفجار، في وقت لم تعلن فيه السلطات حتى الآن عن السبب النهائي للحادثة أو طبيعة المواد التي كانت موجودة في المنشأة. ويعد ميناء روتردام أحد أكبر الموانئ في أوروبا، ويضم منطقة صناعية واسعة تحتوي على منشآت لتخزين ونقل ومعالجة المواد والمنتجات النفطية والكيماوية، إلى جانب مصافٍ ومرافق للطاقة، ما يجعل إجراءات السلامة والاستجابة للطوارئ ذات أهمية كبيرة في المنطقة.
وتُعد منطقة يوروبورت، التي وقع فيها الانفجار، من أبرز المناطق الصناعية في ميناء روتردام، وتضم عدداً كبيراً من المنشآت المرتبطة بالقطاعين النفطي والبتروكيماوي، إضافة إلى مرافق التخزين وخطوط الأنابيب.

The explosion took place shortly after noon today (Thursday) at a company located on Moerdijkweg in the Europoort area, according to the regional broadcasting authority "Rijnmond".
The authority reported that several people were injured and taken to the hospital, while six ambulances, a medical helicopter, and firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene of the incident, indicating that a contracted maintenance team was working on pipelines at the site, and that a malfunction may have occurred while disconnecting those pipelines.
Rijnmond reported that signs of an explosion were visible on a storage tank for materials.
Earlier today, a power outage caused systems at the "Esso" refinery located on Botlekweg to stop, resulting in large flames and black smoke rising over the port during the gas line discharge. The Rotterdam-Rijnmond safety authority stated that it has not yet determined whether the two incidents are related.
Emergency teams and relevant authorities continue their operations at the explosion site, while the authorities have not yet announced the final cause of the incident or the nature of the materials that were present at the facility. The port of Rotterdam is one of the largest ports in Europe and includes a vast industrial area containing facilities for the storage, transportation, and processing of petroleum and chemical products, in addition to refineries and energy facilities, making safety and emergency response procedures critically important in the area.
The Europoort area, where the explosion occurred, is one of the most prominent industrial areas in the port of Rotterdam, housing a large number of facilities associated with the oil and petrochemical sectors, in addition to storage facilities and pipelines.
