جدّدت الحكومة العراقية تأكيد مواقفها الرافضة للاصطفاف ضمن المحاور في المنطقة. وأعلن المتحدث باسم الوزراء حيدر العبودي، اليوم (الإثنين) أن «موقف العراق واضح ولن يكون جزءاً من المحاور والاصطفافات».
وأشار في بيان إلى أن «القائد العام للقوات المسلحة وجه الجهات المعنية بتأمين منظومات الدفاع الجوي»، بحسب ما أفادت وسائل إعلام عراقية.
وتحدث العبودي عن وجود تنسيق أمني وعسكري منتظم لتسلم المواقع التي تشغلها قوات التحالف الدولي في حلول 30 سبتمبر القادم.
ومنذ تسلمه رئاسة الحكومة في شهر مايو الماضي، أكد رئيس الوزراء العراقي علي فالح الزيدي أنه ماضٍ في تقوية الدولة وحصر السلاح ومكافحة الفساد. وأكد أكثر من مرة حرصه على أفضل العلاقات بين بلاده ودول الجوار في المنطقة. وسعى الزيدي إلى تقوية علاقاته مع الإدارة الأمريكية، إذ زار واشنطن أخيراً والتقى الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، على الرغم من العلاقات التي تربط بين طهران وبغداد. وأكد الزيدي أنه يرفض أن يشكل العراق منطلقاً لأي اعتداءات على دول الجوار.
وفي سياق تنفيذ هذه السياسة دفع نحو حصر السلاح بيد الدولة العراقية، وحث القوات الأمنية على توقيف أي مجموعات تنتهك تلك السياسة.
The Iraqi government has renewed its commitment to its stance against aligning with any blocs in the region. The spokesperson for the ministers, Haider Al-Abadi, announced today (Monday) that "Iraq's position is clear and it will not be part of any blocs or alignments."
He indicated in a statement that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has directed the relevant authorities to secure air defense systems," according to Iraqi media reports.
Al-Abadi spoke about the existence of regular security and military coordination to take over the sites currently occupied by the international coalition by September 30.
Since taking office in May, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi has confirmed his commitment to strengthening the state, restricting weapons, and combating corruption. He has repeatedly emphasized his desire for the best relations between his country and neighboring states in the region. Al-Zaydi has sought to strengthen his relations with the U.S. administration, having recently visited Washington and met with President Donald Trump, despite the ties between Tehran and Baghdad. Al-Zaydi affirmed that he rejects the idea of Iraq being a launchpad for any attacks on neighboring countries.
In line with implementing this policy, he has pushed for the restriction of weapons to the Iraqi state and urged security forces to arrest any groups that violate this policy.
