شهدت مدينة الزاوية الواقعة غرب ليبيا، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، اشتباكات عنيفة بين المليشيات المسلحة التابعة لحكومة الوحدة الوطنية، ما أسفر عن سقوط قتلى وجرحى، وتوقف حركة السير وتعليق العمل.
وأكدت وسائل إعلام محلية أن الاشتباكات تدور بين مجموعتي «الفار» و«السلعة» قرب مصفاة النفط، وامتدت إلى مدينة صرمان، ما أدى إلى إغلاق الطريق الساحلي الرابط بين العاصمة طرابلس والحدود التونسية.
وتداولت مصادر محلية أنباء عن مقتل 4 أشخاص وإصابة عدد آخر بجروح، إلى جانب تسجيل أضرار مادية طالت ممتلكات عامة وخاصة، بينها منازل وسيارات، وسط صمت رسمي.
وأظهرت مقاطع فيديو متداولة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، مشاهد من المواجهات التي تدور داخل أحياء سكنية، وسط تصاعد كثيف للدخان وسماع أصوات الرصاص بشكل متواصل.
ووسط استمرار الاشتباكات، دعت شركة الزاوية لتكرير النفط، العاملين في المناطق غير الآمنة لعدم الحضور إلى مقار عملهم، واعتبرت اليوم إجازة طارئة حفاظاً على سلامتهم.
فيما أعلنت بلدية صرمان تعليق العمل في جميع الإدارات والمرافق التابعة لها، على خلفية تدهور الوضع الأمني.
من جانبه، أعلن جهاز الإسعاف والطوارئ أن الطريق الساحلي الممتد من جسر بئر الغنم إلى الإشارة الضوئية بمنطقة الصابرية غير آمن، داعياً مرتادي الطريق لتجنب المرور عبره بسبب الاشتباكات المسلحة.
بدوره، دعا الهلال الأحمر فرع الزاوية، المواطنين إلى البقاء داخل المنازل، وتجنب الأماكن المفتوحة والابتعاد عن الأبواب والنوافذ والطوابق العليا، وعدم الخروج إلا بعد استقرار الأوضاع والتأكد من وجود مسارات آمنة.
يذكر أن التوترات الأمنية في مناطق غرب ليبيا متكررة رغم محاولات حكومة الوحدة الوطنية إنهاء ما تصفها بالمليشيات والجماعات المسلحة الضالعة في الجريمة المنظمة، حيث سبق أن نفذت قواتها عمليات أمنية في مدن غرب البلاد.
The city of Zawiya, located in western Libya, witnessed violent clashes today (Tuesday) between armed militias affiliated with the Government of National Unity, resulting in casualties and injuries, as well as a halt in traffic and the suspension of work.
Local media confirmed that the clashes are taking place between the "Faar" and "Sal'a" groups near the oil refinery, extending to the city of Sorman, leading to the closure of the coastal road linking the capital, Tripoli, to the Tunisian border.
Local sources reported news of 4 people being killed and several others injured, in addition to material damage affecting public and private properties, including homes and vehicles, amid official silence.
Videos circulated on social media showed scenes from the confrontations taking place within residential neighborhoods, with thick smoke rising and continuous gunfire heard.
Amid the ongoing clashes, the Zawiya Oil Refining Company urged employees in unsafe areas not to report to their workplaces, declaring today an emergency holiday to ensure their safety.
Meanwhile, the Sorman municipality announced the suspension of work in all its departments and facilities due to the deteriorating security situation.
For its part, the Emergency and Ambulance Service announced that the coastal road extending from Bir al-Ghanem Bridge to the traffic light in the Sabriya area is unsafe, urging road users to avoid passing through it due to the armed clashes.
The Red Crescent branch in Zawiya also called on citizens to stay indoors, avoid open areas, keep away from doors and windows, and refrain from going out until the situation stabilizes and safe routes are confirmed.
It is worth noting that security tensions in western Libya are recurrent despite the Government of National Unity's attempts to end what it describes as militias and armed groups involved in organized crime, as its forces have previously carried out security operations in cities across the western part of the country.
