حذر وزير الخارجية الأوكراني أندريه سيبيها، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، نظيره الإيراني عباس عراقجي من التصعيد، مطالباً إياه بإنهاء جميع أشكال الدعم لروسيا.
وأوضح سيبيها، على حسابه في منصة «إكس»، أنه اتصل بنظيره الإيراني، وشدد على ضرورة الامتناع عن أي خطوات تصعيدية، وكذلك إنهاء أي دعم لحرب روسيا على أوكرانيا، مؤكداً أن هذه الحرب غير شرعية ويجب أن تتوقف.
من جهته، قال وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي: لا نسعى للتصعيد مع أوكرانيا، لكننا أوضحنا أننا لا نقبل أي هجوم على مصالحنا، ويجب التعويض عن الخسائر، موضحاً أن وزير الخارجية الأوكراني أكد له أن الهجوم على سفينة إيرانية كان غير متعمد، وأن كييف لا تسعى إلى التصعيد.
في المقابل، قال الكرملين، في وقت سابق اليوم، إن الهجوم الأوكراني على سفينة إيرانية في بحر قزوين يجب اعتباره اعتداءً على إيران نفسها، موضحاً أنه أبرز مدى أهمية القضاء على ما وصفه بالتهديد القادم من كييف.
واتهم المتحدث باسم الكرملين، دميتري بيسكوف، أوكرانيا بتوسيع النطاق الجغرافي للهجمات.
وكانت الخارجية الإيرانية قد اتهمت أوكرانيا بمهاجمة سفينة تجارية إيرانية في بحر قزوين، موضحة أن الهجوم أسفر عن انفجار أودى بحياة بحار وأصاب آخر.
وذكرت وكالة الأنباء الإيرانية أن وزارة الخارجية استدعت القائم بالأعمال الأوكراني في طهران لإبلاغه احتجاجها على ما وصفته بـ«الهجوم الإجرامي».
وكان الرئيس الأوكراني، فولوديمير زيلينسكي، قد قال إن كييف ضربت سفناً تستخدم في نقل شحنات عسكرية لها صلة بإيران، موضحاً أن روسيا قامت بنقل بيانات رصدتها عبر أقمارها الصناعية في الشرق الأوسط إلى إيران لتمكينها من توجيه ضربات في المنطقة.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha warned his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi today (Tuesday) against escalation, urging him to end all forms of support for Russia.
Sybiha explained on his account on the "X" platform that he contacted his Iranian counterpart and emphasized the necessity of refraining from any escalatory steps, as well as ending any support for Russia's war on Ukraine, asserting that this war is illegitimate and must stop.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated: "We do not seek escalation with Ukraine, but we have made it clear that we do not accept any attack on our interests, and compensation for losses is necessary," explaining that the Ukrainian foreign minister assured him that the attack on an Iranian ship was unintentional and that Kyiv does not seek escalation.
In contrast, the Kremlin stated earlier today that the Ukrainian attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea should be considered an aggression against Iran itself, clarifying the importance of eliminating what it described as the threat coming from Kyiv.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Ukraine of expanding the geographical scope of attacks.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry had accused Ukraine of attacking an Iranian commercial ship in the Caspian Sea, stating that the attack resulted in an explosion that killed one sailor and injured another.
The Iranian news agency reported that the Foreign Ministry summoned the Ukrainian chargé d'affaires in Tehran to inform him of its protest against what it described as a "criminal attack."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had stated that Kyiv struck ships used to transport military shipments related to Iran, explaining that Russia had transferred data it monitored through its satellites in the Middle East to Iran to enable it to carry out strikes in the region.
