أعلن رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني شهباز شريف، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، التزام بلاده بمواصلة دورها كوسيط نزيه لتخفيف التصعيد بين طهران وواشنطن، داعياً جميع الأطراف إلى ضبط النفس وتجنب أي خطوات قد تزعزع الاستقرار في المنطقة.
وأكد شريف خلال استقباله اليوم، وزير الداخلية الإيراني إسكندر مؤمني، عن قلقه إزاء التصعيد الأخير في منطقة الخليج، موضحاً أن بلاده ستواصل جهودها في الوساطة وتيسير الحوار، انطلاقاً من التزامها بدعم السلام والاستقرار الإقليميين. والتقى مؤمني برئيس الوزراء الباكستاني، بحضور وزير الخارجية إسحاق دار، ووزير الداخلية محسن رضا نقوي، ووزير الإعلام عطا الله تارار، إلى جانب عدد من كبار المسؤولين.
من جانبه، أوضح وزير الداخلية الإيراني أن زيارته تأتي على رأس وفد حكومي رفيع بهدف تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، مشيداً بجهود شهباز شريف، ونائب رئيس الوزراء إسحاق دار، وقائد الجيش الباكستاني المشير عاصم منير، في الوساطة التي أسفرت عن التوصل إلى مذكرة تفاهم إسلام آباد.
وأضافت مصادر أن الجانبين بحثا التمهيد لجولة مفاوضات جديدة بين أمريكا وإيران.
وكان المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي قد قال في مؤتمر صحفي أمس، إن الاتصالات الدبلوماسية مع الولايات المتحدة عبر وسطاء ما زالت متواصلة رغم الضربات العسكرية الأمريكية على البلاد.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, announced today (Tuesday) the commitment of his country to continue its role as an impartial mediator to ease tensions between Tehran and Washington, calling on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid any steps that could destabilize the region.
Sharif, during his meeting today with Iranian Interior Minister Iskander Momeni, expressed his concern regarding the recent escalation in the Gulf region, clarifying that his country will continue its efforts in mediation and facilitating dialogue, based on its commitment to support regional peace and stability. Momeni met with the Pakistani Prime Minister in the presence of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, along with several senior officials.
For his part, the Iranian Interior Minister explained that his visit comes at the head of a high-level government delegation aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, praising the efforts of Shahbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Asim Munir, in the mediation that led to the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Sources added that both sides discussed paving the way for a new round of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, stated in a press conference yesterday that diplomatic communications with the United States through intermediaries are still ongoing despite the American military strikes on the country.
