استدعت وزارة الخارجية في دولة الكويت، اليوم، سفير إيران لدى الكويت محمد توتونجي، لتسليمه مذكرة احتجاج على قيام بلاده باستهداف الناقلة الكويتية (كيفان)، أمس، أثناء عبورها مضيق هرمز، مما أسفر عن إصابة عدد من أفراد طاقمها.
وأكد نائب وزير الخارجية الكويتي حمد المشعان -وفقاً لبيان وزارة الخارجية الكويتية- أن هذا الاعتداء السافر يأتي في ظل تصاعد العدوان الآثم الذي تشنه إيران ضد دولة الكويت منذ 28 فبراير 2026 بما في ذلك البيانات التحريضية والاستفزازية الصادرة عن الجانب الإيراني، ويشكل انتهاكاً صارخاً لسيادة الكويت وسلامة أراضيها ومصالحها وتهديداً لأمن وحرية الملاحة الدولية وخرقاً للقانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقرار مجلس الأمن رقم 2817 لعام 2026.
وجدد المشعان -حسبما ذكرت وكالة الأنباء الكويتية- مطالبة دولة الكويت لإيران بالوقف الفوري لهجماتها غير المشروعة، مشدداً على احتفاظ الكويت بحقها في اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة وتحميل إيران المسؤولية الكاملة عن هذا الاعتداء وعدوانها المتواصل على الكويت.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the State of Kuwait summoned the Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohammad Toutounji, today to deliver a note of protest regarding his country's targeting of the Kuwaiti tanker (Kifan) yesterday while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in injuries to several crew members.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Hamad Al-Mashaan, stated - according to a statement from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs - that this blatant aggression comes amid the escalating malicious attacks launched by Iran against the State of Kuwait since February 28, 2026, including inciting and provocative statements issued by the Iranian side. It constitutes a gross violation of Kuwait's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and interests, and poses a threat to the security and freedom of international navigation, as well as a breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution No. 2817 of 2026.
Al-Mashaan reiterated - as reported by the Kuwait News Agency - Kuwait's demand for Iran to immediately cease its unlawful attacks, emphasizing that Kuwait reserves the right to take necessary measures and hold Iran fully responsible for this aggression and its ongoing hostility towards Kuwait.
