العليمي: لن نسمح بفرض أمر واقع جديد على حساب اليمن

The President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, reaffirmed that the Republic of Yemen will not allow any infringement on its sovereignty or tampering with its institutions, and that the state is steadfast in protecting the interests of the Yemeni people and confronting all attempts aimed at destabilizing security and stability or imposing realities by force.

During his meeting (on Friday) with the governors of the provinces and members of the Supreme Security Committee, in the presence of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Sha'if Al-Zandani, he emphasized that the response to the ongoing escalation will be based on the logic of the state and the rule of law, away from the calculations of militias and the agendas of their supporters, affirming that restoring the state and ending the coup represent a firm national choice that cannot be reversed.

The meeting reviewed the political, security, and economic developments on the national scene, along with the government efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens, enhancing basic services, strengthening the effectiveness of local authorities, and consolidating security and stability in various provinces.

The meeting also discussed the recent escalation and the repeated Iranian violations of Yemeni sovereignty, which pose a direct threat to national security, as well as the attempts by the terrorist Houthi militia to push the country towards new rounds of military escalation in an effort to escape from its internal crises and serve the agenda of its supporters in Tehran.

Al-Alimi affirmed that the current phase places an exceptional national responsibility on the leadership of local authorities, necessitating the doubling of efforts and enhancing national cohesion among the Yemeni people, and intensifying coordination with the military and security institutions and intelligence agencies, in a way that enhances the presence of the state and reinforces citizens' trust in its institutions.

He stated that the priority in this phase is to consolidate security and stability, enhance the state's prestige, combat terrorism, smuggling, and corruption in all its forms, and protect ports and sovereign outlets, in addition to raising the efficiency of institutions and improving the level of services provided to citizens.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council addressed the measures taken by the state in dealing with the Houthi escalation and its supporters, affirming that the government has adopted an approach based on the responsibility of the state and its supreme interests, away from the logic of militias and emotional reactions. He clarified that the primary goal is to protect Yemeni sovereignty, enhance the political position of the state, and rally regional and international support for its just cause, without getting drawn into confrontations that would give the coup plotters an opportunity to escape from their escalating crises.

He praised the national role of the armed forces and what they have shown in terms of high readiness to defend national sovereignty and prevent the imposition of facts by force, while also affirming the state's commitment not to expand the scope of confrontation in a way that could distract attention from the essence of the national cause or provide the militias with pretexts to redirect international attention away from Yemen's priorities and its supreme interests.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council emphasized that all steps taken by the state stem from its responsibility to protect the interests of Yemenis and enhance its political position, and do not in any way represent a retreat from its national objectives, foremost among them being the end of the coup and the restoration of state institutions, considering this a fixed goal that the leadership will not deviate from, no matter the challenges and sacrifices.

In the same context, Al-Alimi welcomed the humanitarian initiative proposed by the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to resume flights between Sana'a and Amman, affirming that the state's openness to any humanitarian initiative that would alleviate the suffering of citizens embodies its commitment to its national and humanitarian responsibilities, and does not in any way mean conceding national constants or undermining the sovereignty of the state or granting the militias any political legitimacy or gains at the expense of legitimate institutions.
