أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية اليوم (الخميس)، استدعاء السفير البريطاني في طهران بعد اتهامات وجهتها لندن لإيران بمحاولة تنفيذ عمليات تهدد الأمن في بريطانيا.
وقالت الخارجية الإيرانية إنها طالبت بتعديل سلوك بريطانيا تجاه الشعب الإيراني وإنهاء استضافة ودعم الأفراد والشبكات المعادية لإيران.
وأبلغ مساعد وزير الخارجية الإيراني والمدير العام لشؤون غرب أوروبا، علي رضا يوسفي، السفير البريطاني احتجاج إيران على ما وصفه بـ«النهج غير اللائق» للحكومة البريطانية تجاه الشعب الإيراني، وسلمه مذكرة احتجاج رسمية.
وقال يوسفي إن الادعاءات البريطانية بشأن سعي إيران إلى تنفيذ أنشطة تمس الأمن داخل المملكة المتحدة «لا أساس لها ومزيفة».
وكانت بريطانيا قد استدعت (الثلاثاء) القائم بالأعمال الإيراني في لندن، عقب الحكم على مواطنين رومانيين بالسجن لإدانتهما بالاعتداء طعناً على بوريا زراعتي، الصحفي في قناة «إيران إنترناشيونال»، موضحة أن الهجوم نُفذ بالنيابة عن إيران.
وفي سياق آخر، نددت الخارجية الإيرانية بالضربات الأمريكية على أقاليم ساحلية في جنوب البلاد وعلى جسرين للسكك الحديدية في الشرق، موضحة أن طهران لن تسمح بـ«الانتهاكات الأمريكية للاتفاق أو ممارسة الترهيب بما يؤثر على المصالح الوطنية».
ونقلت وكالة بلومبيرغ عن بيانات تتبع السفن أن حركة الملاحة عبر مضيق هرمز شهدت توقفاً شبه تام، اليوم (الخميس).
وأضافت أن التحركات الملحوظة في مضيق هرمز اقتصرت إلى حد كبير على مسار معتمد من إيران يقع بالقرب من الجانب الشمالي للمضيق، في حين أن الممر العُماني الذي يحظى بدعم أمريكي بدا هادئاً.
وأشارت إلى أنه لم تُرصد حركة في المضيق سوى لناقلة نفط عملاقة خاضعة لعقوبات أمريكية وهي تغادر الخليج إلى جانب سفينة حاويات ترفع العلم الإيراني.
وأوضحت أنه من المحتمل أن تكون هناك سفن أخرى تعبر المضيق مع إيقاف أجهزة الإرسال والاستقبال الخاصة.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced today (Thursday) the summoning of the British ambassador in Tehran following accusations made by London against Iran of attempting to carry out operations that threaten security in Britain.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that it demanded a change in Britain's behavior towards the Iranian people and the cessation of hosting and supporting individuals and networks hostile to Iran.
Ali Reza Yousefi, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and Director General for Western Europe, informed the British ambassador of Iran's protest against what he described as the "inappropriate approach" of the British government towards the Iranian people, and handed him an official protest note.
Yousefi stated that the British allegations regarding Iran's pursuit of activities affecting security within the United Kingdom are "baseless and fabricated."
Britain had summoned the Iranian chargé d'affaires in London on Tuesday, following the sentencing of two Romanian citizens to prison for stabbing Pouria Zaragati, a journalist at "Iran International," clarifying that the attack was carried out on behalf of Iran.
In another context, the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the American strikes on coastal regions in the south of the country and on two railway bridges in the east, stating that Tehran would not allow "American violations of the agreement or intimidation that affects national interests."
Bloomberg reported, citing ship tracking data, that maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz experienced a near-complete halt today (Thursday).
It added that the noticeable movements in the Strait of Hormuz were largely limited to a route approved by Iran located near the northern side of the strait, while the Omani corridor, which has American support, appeared calm.
It noted that the only movement observed in the strait was of a giant oil tanker subject to American sanctions leaving the Gulf alongside a container ship flying the Iranian flag.
It clarified that there may be other ships crossing the strait with their transponders turned off.
