أكد الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي أن الإحاطة الطارئة التي قدمها وزير خارجية مملكة البحرين الدكتور عبداللطيف بن راشد الزياني أمام مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة، بشأن الاعتداءات الإيرانية التي تعرضت لها مملكة البحرين، تعكس التزامها بالمسارات الدبلوماسية والقانونية، وإطلاع المجتمع الدولي على خطورة هذه التطورات وانعكاساتها على أمن واستقرار المنطقة.
وأبان أن الإحاطة تؤكد نهج مملكة البحرين القائم على احترام قواعد القانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة، والحرص على معالجة التحديات عبر المؤسسات الدولية، بما يسهم في تعزيز الأمن والسلم الإقليميين والدوليين.
وجدد تضامن مجلس التعاون الكامل مع مملكة البحرين، وتأييده لكل ما تتخذه من إجراءات لحماية أمنها واستقرارها وسيادتها وسلامة أراضيها، مؤكدًا أن أمن دول مجلس التعاون كلٌ لا يتجزأ، وأن أي اعتداء يستهدف إحدى دول المجلس يُعد اعتداءً على جميع دوله.
ودعا الأمين العام المجتمع الدولي، لاسيما مجلس الأمن، إلى تحمل مسؤولياته في حفظ الأمن والسلم الدوليين، واتخاذ موقف حازم تجاه هذه الاعتداءات بما يضمن وقف الأعمال التي تهدد أمن المنطقة، واحترام مبادئ القانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة، ويعزز الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي والدولي.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, affirmed that the emergency briefing provided by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, before the United Nations Security Council regarding the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain reflects its commitment to diplomatic and legal pathways, and to informing the international community about the seriousness of these developments and their implications for the security and stability of the region.
He indicated that the briefing underscores the Kingdom of Bahrain's approach based on respecting the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, and its keenness to address challenges through international institutions, which contributes to enhancing regional and international security and peace.
The Secretary-General reiterated the full solidarity of the Gulf Cooperation Council with the Kingdom of Bahrain, supporting all measures it takes to protect its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, emphasizing that the security of the GCC states is indivisible, and any aggression targeting one of the member states is considered an aggression against all of them.
The Secretary-General called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security, and to take a firm stance against these aggressions to ensure the cessation of actions that threaten the security of the region, respect the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and enhance regional and international security and stability.
