حسمت وزارة الخارجية القطرية الجدل الدائر بشأن اللقاء المرتقب بين الأمريكيين والإيرانيين في العاصمة الدوحة. وأعلن المتحدث باسمها الدكتور ماجد الأنصاري، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، أنه لا يوجد اجتماع رفيع المستوى مخطط له بين الجانبين.
وأفاد بأن المبعوثين الأمريكيين ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر في قطر للقاء الوسطاء وبحث المفاوضات، وأنهما لن يلتقيا مباشرة مع المسؤولين الإيرانيين في الوقت الحالي.
وكشف المتحدث باسم الخارجية وجود تنسيق مع سلطنة عمان بشأن مضيق هرمز. وشدّد على أن حرية الملاحة في هرمز حق مكفول لجميع دول الخليج. وقال الأنصاري إنه جرى استخدام خط الاتصال المباشر لتهدئة التوتر في هرمز. وأضاف أن أموال إيران المجمدة البالغة 6 مليارات دولار لم تحوّل لطهران حتى الآن.
وكانت الدوحة، تستعد اليوم لاستضافة وفدين من الولايات المتحدة وإيران في ظل تباين بشأن الخطوة التالية في مسار المفاوضات بين البلدين. وفيما يبرز ملفا مضيق هرمز والأموال الإيرانية المجمدة على رأس جدول الأعمال، تؤكد طهران أنها لم توافق على عقد أي اجتماع مع واشنطن «على أي مستوى»، بعدما ألقت الهجمات المتبادلة خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع بظلالها على الجهود الرامية إلى تثبيت الاتفاق المؤقت والمضي نحو اتفاق نهائي.
وأعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، مساء الإثنين، أن إيران طلبت عقد اجتماع مع مسؤولين أمريكيين، وإن الجانبين يعتزمان الاجتماع الثلاثاء في الدوحة. وأضاف: «ربما يكون اجتماعاً مهماً، وسنعرف ذلك لاحقاً».
فيما أفاد كبير المفاوضين الإيرانيين كاظم غريب آبادي، وفقاً لوسائل إعلام إيرانية رسمية، بأنه لم يتم تأكيد أي لقاء مع الولايات المتحدة. وأشار المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي إلى أن الوفد الإيراني سيتوجه إلى قطر؛ لبحث تنفيذ بنود الاتفاق المؤقت من دون مشاركة الولايات المتحدة.
وأوضح في تصريحات أوردتها «أسوشيتد برس»، أن الوفد الإيراني سيبحث في الدوحة الإفراج عن الأصول الإيرانية المجمدة، وقضايا أخرى مرتبطة بالاتفاق.
وأضاف بقائي: «لا توجد أي اجتماعات تفاوضية مع الجانب الأمريكي، على أي مستوى، مقررة خلال الأيام القادمة»، لكنه لم يستبعد استمرار تبادل الرسائل عبر الوسطاء القطريين.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has settled the ongoing debate regarding the anticipated meeting between Americans and Iranians in the capital, Doha. Its spokesperson, Dr. Majid Al-Ansari, announced today (Tuesday) that there is no high-level meeting planned between the two sides.
He stated that American envoys Steve Wittekov and Jared Kushner are in Qatar to meet with mediators and discuss negotiations, and that they will not be meeting directly with Iranian officials at this time.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that there is coordination with the Sultanate of Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that freedom of navigation in Hormuz is a right guaranteed to all Gulf countries. Al-Ansari mentioned that a direct communication line has been used to de-escalate tensions in Hormuz. He added that the $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds has not been transferred to Tehran yet.
Doha was preparing today to host delegations from the United States and Iran amid differing views on the next step in the negotiations between the two countries. While the issues of the Strait of Hormuz and the frozen Iranian funds are at the top of the agenda, Tehran insists that it has not agreed to hold any meeting with Washington "at any level," after mutual attacks over the weekend cast a shadow over efforts to solidify the temporary agreement and move towards a final deal.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday evening that Iran requested a meeting with American officials, and that both sides intend to meet on Tuesday in Doha. He added, "It could be an important meeting, and we will know that later."
Meanwhile, Iran's chief negotiator Kazem Gharib Abadi stated, according to official Iranian media, that no meeting with the United States has been confirmed. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baqaei indicated that the Iranian delegation will head to Qatar to discuss the implementation of the terms of the temporary agreement without U.S. participation.
He clarified in statements reported by the "Associated Press" that the Iranian delegation will discuss in Doha the release of frozen Iranian assets and other issues related to the agreement.
Baqaei added, "There are no planned negotiation meetings with the American side at any level in the coming days," but he did not rule out the continuation of message exchanges through Qatari mediators.
