أكد الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون التزام بلاده بتنفيذ إطار الاتفاق المبرم بينها وبين إسرائيل، معرباً، خلال اتصال هاتفي تلقاه من الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، عن أمله في أن تسهم الولايات المتحدة في منع أي خرق لهذا الاتفاق.
وأعلنت الرئاسة اللبنانية أن عون تلقى اتصالاً هاتفياً، ليل (السبت/الأحد)، من نظيره الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، موضحة أنه شكر الرئيس الأمريكي على موقفه الداعم للبنان وسلطته الشرعية ومؤسساته الدستورية والأمنية، وفي مقدمتها الجيش اللبناني.
وأعرب عون عن أمله في أن تسهم الولايات المتحدة في منع أي خرق للاتفاق، وضمان الوفاء بجميع الالتزامات التي تم التفاهم عليها، ولا سيما ممارسة الضغط على إسرائيل للانسحاب من الأراضي التي تحتلها في جنوب لبنان، بما يتيح انتشار الجيش اللبناني حتى الحدود الدولية.
وأوضحت الرئاسة اللبنانية أن ترمب هنأ عون على توقيع إطار الاتفاق بين لبنان وإسرائيل برعاية الولايات المتحدة، مؤكداً وقوف بلاده إلى جانب لبنان والشعب اللبناني، والعمل على توفير كل ما من شأنه تنفيذ مخرجات الاتفاق، بما يعيد الأمن والاستقرار إلى لبنان.
ونقلت الرئاسة اللبنانية عن ترمب قوله إن الولايات المتحدة تتمنى للشعب اللبناني الخير والتقدم، ولن تدخر أي جهد لدعم سيادة لبنان واستقلاله وسلامة أراضيه، وبسط سلطة الدولة بقواها المسلحة على كامل الأراضي اللبنانية، ووقف أي تهديد لاستقرار البلاد، ودعم مواقف الرئيس عون وقرارات الحكومة.
وأضافت أن ترمب أكد أن الولايات المتحدة ستواصل دعم الاقتصاد اللبناني والقوى الأمنية الشرعية، بما يساعد لبنان على استعادة دوره الريادي في محيطه والعالم.
وفي ختام الاتصال، أشار الرئيس الأمريكي إلى لقاء مرتقب مع الرئيس عون في واشنطن، وفق ما نشرته الرئاسة اللبنانية عبر حسابها على منصة «إكس».
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed his country's commitment to implementing the framework agreement reached between it and Israel, expressing, during a phone call he received from U.S. President Donald Trump, his hope that the United States would help prevent any violation of this agreement.
The Lebanese presidency announced that Aoun received a phone call late (Saturday/Sunday) from his American counterpart Donald Trump, clarifying that he thanked the U.S. president for his supportive stance towards Lebanon, its legitimate authority, and its constitutional and security institutions, foremost among them the Lebanese Army.
Aoun expressed his hope that the United States would help prevent any breach of the agreement and ensure the fulfillment of all commitments that were agreed upon, particularly by exerting pressure on Israel to withdraw from the territories it occupies in southern Lebanon, allowing the Lebanese Army to deploy up to the international borders.
The Lebanese presidency clarified that Trump congratulated Aoun on the signing of the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel under U.S. sponsorship, affirming his country's support for Lebanon and the Lebanese people, and working to provide everything necessary to implement the outcomes of the agreement, which would restore security and stability to Lebanon.
The Lebanese presidency quoted Trump as saying that the United States wishes the Lebanese people well and progress, and will spare no effort to support Lebanon's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, to establish the authority of the state with its armed forces over all Lebanese territory, to stop any threat to the country's stability, and to support President Aoun's positions and the government's decisions.
It added that Trump confirmed that the United States would continue to support the Lebanese economy and legitimate security forces, helping Lebanon to regain its leading role in its region and the world.
At the end of the call, the U.S. president mentioned an upcoming meeting with President Aoun in Washington, as reported by the Lebanese presidency through its account on the "X" platform.
