رحّب الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي، بإعلان سلطنة عُمان، بالتنسيق مع المنظمة البحرية الدولية، إتاحة استخدام ممر بحري مؤقت للسفن؛ بما يسهم في إجلاء أكثر من 11 ألف بحار عالق، ويعزز حرية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز وفقًا للقانون الدولي وقانون البحار.
وأشاد بهذه المبادرة التي تجسد النهج الحكيم الذي تنتهجه سلطنة عُمان في دعم الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي، وتعزيز سلامة وأمن الملاحة البحرية، وترسيخ مبادئ القانون الدولي، بما يسهم في ضمان انسيابية حركة التجارة الإقليمية والدولية.
وأعرب عن رفض وإدانة مجلس التعاون بأشد العبارات للادعاءات الصادرة عن إيران، وتهديدها لحرية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز عقب الإعلان عن هذه المبادرة، مؤكدًا أن الخطوة العُمانية تسهم في إجلاء البحارة العالقين، وتعزيز سلاسل الإمداد للاقتصادين الإقليمي والعالمي، وتعكس دعم دول مجلس التعاون للجهود الإقليمية والدولية الرامية إلى تعزيز الأمن البحري، وترسيخ الأمن والاستقرار، وخفض التوترات في المنطقة.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, welcomed the announcement by the Sultanate of Oman, in coordination with the International Maritime Organization, to allow the use of a temporary maritime corridor for ships; contributing to the evacuation of more than 11,000 stranded sailors, and enhancing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law and maritime law.
He praised this initiative, which embodies the wise approach taken by the Sultanate of Oman in supporting regional security and stability, enhancing the safety and security of maritime navigation, and reinforcing the principles of international law, thereby contributing to ensuring the smooth flow of regional and international trade.
He expressed the Council's strong rejection and condemnation of the claims made by Iran and its threats to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz following the announcement of this initiative, affirming that the Omani step contributes to the evacuation of stranded sailors, enhances supply chains for the regional and global economy, and reflects the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for regional and international efforts aimed at enhancing maritime security, establishing security and stability, and reducing tensions in the region.
