وسط توقعات بصدور بيان أمريكي إيراني باكستاني مشترك، كشفت وسائل إعلام غربية عن توصل الأطراف الأربعة لخطة لمواصلة المحادثات على المستوى السياسي وبين الفرق الفنية خلال المرحلة القادمة.
ونقل موقع «أكسيوس» عن دبلوماسي أمريكي قوله: «إن المحادثات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران في سويسرا تواصلت طوال يوم بصيغ مختلفة ودون انقطاع يذكر»، مبيناً أن أحد المحاور الرئيسية للمحادثات تمثل في آليات منع التصعيد في لبنان وتنفيذ وقف إطلاق النار.
وقال الدبلوماسي: «الولايات المتحدة وإيران والوسطاء ناقشوا أيضاً ملف مضيق هرمز والتصريحات الإيرانية الأخيرة بشأن إغلاقه»، مشيراً إلى أن واشنطن أوضحت أنها تريد ضمان بقاء المضيق مفتوحاً بالكامل أمام الملاحة.
وأضاف: «أوضحنا أننا نريد التأكد من أنه سيبقى مفتوحاً بالكامل، وقد أحرزنا تقدماً جيداً في هذا المسار»، مشيراً إلى أن المحادثات تناولت كذلك جميع عناصر الاتفاق النووي، إضافة إلى مناقشة تنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم الموقعة بين الجانبين، وكيفية ضمان وجود فهم مشترك لبنودها وآليات تطبيقها.
وقال الدبلوماسي الأمريكي إن «الأطراف الأربعة تبدو راضية عن سير المحادثات والوسطاء يساعدون الجانبين على تجاوز الخلافات، والجولة الحالية تمهد لبناء الثقة في المرحلة القادمة».
وتوقع الدبلوماسي أن تختتم المحادثات السياسية رفيعة المستوى، اليوم (الإثنين)، على أن تستمر المناقشات بين الفرق الفنية التي يُرجح أن تبقى في سويسرا لمواصلة العمل على الملفات المطروحة.
وكان رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية القطري الشيخ محمد بن عبد الرحمن آل ثاني قد رحب بانعقاد أعمال قمة بحيرة لوسيرن واستكمال المحادثات بين الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وإيران في سويسرا.
وأعرب عن شكره لباكستان وجميع الأطراف التي أسهمت في هذا التفاهم، مشيراً إلى أنه يتطلع إلى البناء عليه.
Amid expectations of a joint American-Iranian-Pakistani statement, Western media revealed that the four parties have reached a plan to continue discussions at the political level and among technical teams during the upcoming phase.
The Axios website quoted an American diplomat as saying: "The talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland continued throughout the day in various formats and without significant interruption," noting that one of the main topics of discussion was the mechanisms to prevent escalation in Lebanon and the implementation of a ceasefire.
The diplomat stated: "The United States, Iran, and the mediators also discussed the issue of the Strait of Hormuz and the recent Iranian statements regarding its closure," pointing out that Washington made it clear that it wants to ensure the strait remains fully open to navigation.
He added: "We clarified that we want to ensure it remains fully open, and we have made good progress in this regard," noting that the talks also addressed all elements of the nuclear agreement, in addition to discussing the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides, and how to ensure a mutual understanding of its terms and mechanisms for its application.
The American diplomat said that "the four parties seem satisfied with the progress of the talks, and the mediators are helping both sides to overcome their differences, with the current round paving the way for building trust in the next phase."
The diplomat expected that the high-level political talks would conclude today (Monday), while discussions among the technical teams are likely to continue in Switzerland to keep working on the proposed files.
Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani welcomed the convening of the Lake Lucerne summit and the continuation of talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland.
He expressed his gratitude to Pakistan and all parties that contributed to this understanding, indicating that he looks forward to building on it.
