شارك وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان في اجتماع رباعي رفيع المستوى عُقد في العاصمة المصرية القاهرة، ضم وزير الخارجية المصري الدكتور بدر عبدالعاطي، ووزير الخارجية التركي هاكان فيدان، وكبير مستشاري الرئيس الأمريكي للشؤون العربية والأفريقية مسعد بولس، لبحث مستجدات الأوضاع الإقليمية وعدد من الملفات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
ويأتي الاجتماع في إطار الجهود الدبلوماسية المكثفة التي تبذلها المملكة بالتنسيق مع شركائها الإقليميين والدوليين لدعم الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة، وتعزيز الحلول السياسية للأزمات الإقليمية.
وأكدت المباحثات أهمية البناء على مذكرة التفاهم الأخيرة بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، بما يسهم في خفض التوترات الإقليمية، وتهيئة الظروف الملائمة لتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في الشرق الأوسط، في ظل التحديات التي تواجه المنطقة.
بحث القضايا العربية والإقليمية
كما ناقش المشاركون تطورات الأوضاع في ليبيا، وجرى التأكيد على دعم الجهود الرامية إلى الحفاظ على وحدة الأراضي الليبية واحترام سيادتها، ودفع العملية السياسية، وتوحيد مؤسسات الدولة بما يحقق تطلعات الشعب الليبي في الأمن والاستقرار.
وتناول الاجتماع مستجدات القضية الفلسطينية، وفي مقدمتها الأوضاع في قطاع غزة، وشدد المشاركون على أهمية تكثيف الجهود الرامية إلى احتواء التصعيد ودعم المساعي السياسية والإنسانية الهادفة إلى تخفيف معاناة المدنيين وتحقيق الاستقرار.
وشهد اللقاء كذلك بحث الأوضاع في القارة الأفريقية، وسبل تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق المشترك لدعم الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية، انطلاقاً من أهمية القارة ومكانتها الإستراتيجية في منظومة الأمن الإقليمي والدولي.
دور سعودي محوري
ويعكس حضور الأمير فيصل بن فرحان الدور المحوري الذي تضطلع به المملكة في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي، ودعم مسارات الحوار والتسويات السياسية، بما ينسجم مع نهج المملكة الداعي إلى تغليب الحلول الدبلوماسية وخفض التوترات في المنطقة.
وخلال السنوات الأخيرة، برزت المملكة كأحد أبرز الفاعلين الإقليميين في جهود الوساطة وبناء التوافقات السياسية، سواء في ما يتعلق بالقضايا العربية أو الملفات الإقليمية والدولية، مستندة إلى ثقلها السياسي ومكانتها الدولية وعلاقاتها المتوازنة مع مختلف الأطراف.

تأتي المباحثات الرباعية في القاهرة في ظل مرحلة دقيقة تشهدها المنطقة، مع استمرار الجهود الدولية لتثبيت التفاهمات الأمريكية الإيرانية، ومتابعة التطورات في غزة وليبيا، إلى جانب التحديات الأمنية والاقتصادية التي تواجه العديد من دول المنطقة.
كما تعكس هذه اللقاءات مستوى التنسيق المتنامي بين المملكة ومصر وتركيا والولايات المتحدة بشأن القضايا الإقليمية، وحرص الأطراف المشاركة على دعم الاستقرار الإقليمي ومنع اتساع نطاق الأزمات، بما يحفظ أمن المنطقة ومصالح شعوبها.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan participated in a high-level quadrilateral meeting held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, which included Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, Mosaad Boulos, to discuss developments in regional situations and several files of mutual interest.
The meeting comes as part of the intensive diplomatic efforts made by the Kingdom in coordination with its regional and international partners to support security and stability in the region and to promote political solutions to regional crises.
The discussions emphasized the importance of building on the recent memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, which contributes to reducing regional tensions and creating favorable conditions to enhance security and stability in the Middle East, amid the challenges facing the region.
Discussion of Arab and Regional Issues
The participants also discussed the developments in Libya, reaffirming support for efforts aimed at preserving the unity of Libyan territory and respecting its sovereignty, advancing the political process, and unifying state institutions to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people for security and stability.
The meeting addressed updates on the Palestinian issue, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip, with participants stressing the importance of intensifying efforts to contain the escalation and support political and humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of civilians and achieving stability.
The meeting also included discussions on the situation in the African continent and ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination to support security, stability, and development, based on the importance of the continent and its strategic position in the regional and international security system.
Saudi Arabia's Central Role
The presence of Prince Faisal bin Farhan reflects the central role that the Kingdom plays in enhancing regional security and stability, and supporting dialogue and political settlement pathways, in line with the Kingdom's approach that advocates prioritizing diplomatic solutions and reducing tensions in the region.
In recent years, the Kingdom has emerged as one of the most prominent regional actors in mediation efforts and building political consensus, whether concerning Arab issues or regional and international files, relying on its political weight, international standing, and balanced relations with various parties.
Growing Coordination
The quadrilateral discussions in Cairo come at a delicate stage the region is experiencing, with ongoing international efforts to solidify the U.S.-Iran understandings and to monitor developments in Gaza and Libya, alongside the security and economic challenges facing many countries in the region.
These meetings also reflect the growing level of coordination between the Kingdom, Egypt, Turkey, and the United States regarding regional issues, and the participating parties' commitment to supporting regional stability and preventing the escalation of crises, thereby preserving the security of the region and the interests of its peoples.
