أعلن مسؤول أمريكي أن الرئيس دونالد ترمب لن يعقد اجتماعاً ثنائياً مع نظيره الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي على هامش قمة مجموعة السبع في فرنسا المقررة الثلاثاء، رغم مشاركتهما في جلسة عمل مشتركة، وفق ما أوردت صحيفة «الغارديان».
وتُعقد قمة مجموعة السبع في بلدة إيفيان-لي-بان الفرنسية خلال الفترة من 15 إلى 17 يونيو، ومن المقرر أن يعقد ترمب على هامشها لقاءات ثنائية مع الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، إضافة إلى قادة قطر، الإمارات، مصر، والهند.
ويتوقع أن يناقش الرئيس ترمب مع حلفاء الولايات المتحدة خططاً لإزالة الألغام من مضيق هرمز مع تزايد الثقة في التوصل إلى اتفاق، حسبما قال أحد المسؤولين لوكالة «أسوشيتد برس».
ويجتمع قادة دول مجموعة السبع، التي تضم أيضاً كندا، ألمانيا، إيطاليا، واليابان، لمناقشة قضايا تشمل النمو الاقتصادي والتنمية، وتعزيز سلاسل التوريد للمعادن الحيوية، والهجرة غير الشرعية، والذكاء الاصطناعي. ويرجح أن تكون الحروب في أوكرانيا وإيران في صدارة الاهتمامات.
من جانبه، أفاد مسؤول أمريكي بأن المكاسب الروسية على الجبهة «توقفت إلى حد كبير»، مضيفاً: «نريد أن تنتهي الحرب في أسرع وقت ممكن».
ميدانياً، أعلنت السلطات الروسية إن هجوماً بطائرة مسيّرة أوكرانية أسفر عن سقوط شخص، وإصابة 3 آخرين في إقليم كراسنودار جنوبي البلاد، وذلك ضمن حملة كييف لاستهداف مواقع عسكرية ومنشآت طاقة روسية.
وأوضح حاكم الإقليم فينيامين كوندراتييف أن حطام الطائرة تسبب في اندلاع حريق بمحطة بحرية. ولم يعلق الجيش الأوكراني على الهجوم في كراسنودار، لكنه أعلن أن قواته استهدفت خلال الليل محطة لإعداد وضخ النفط في إقليم فولجوجراد، إضافة إلى أهداف في منطقتي دونيتسك وزابوريجيا الخاضعتين للسيطرة الروسية.
وجاءت هذه الهجمات بعد إعلان زيلينسكي أن القوات الأوكرانية استهدفت مواقع بنية تحتية عدة داخل العمق الروسي، من بينها مصنع عسكري قال إنه يزوّد روسيا بمكونات تستخدم في الطائرات المسيّرة والصواريخ.
An American official announced that President Donald Trump will not hold a bilateral meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France scheduled for Tuesday, despite their participation in a joint working session, according to the Guardian newspaper.
The G7 summit will be held in the French town of Évian-les-Bains from June 15 to 17, and Trump is expected to hold bilateral meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as leaders from Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, and India.
President Trump is expected to discuss with U.S. allies plans to clear mines from the Strait of Hormuz as confidence grows in reaching an agreement, according to one official speaking to the Associated Press.
The leaders of the G7 countries, which also include Canada, Germany, Italy, and Japan, will meet to discuss issues including economic growth and development, strengthening supply chains for critical minerals, illegal immigration, and artificial intelligence. The wars in Ukraine and Iran are likely to be at the forefront of concerns.
For his part, an American official stated that Russian gains on the front have "largely stalled," adding, "We want the war to end as soon as possible."
On the ground, Russian authorities announced that an attack by a Ukrainian drone resulted in one death and three injuries in the Krasnodar region in the south of the country, as part of Kyiv's campaign to target military sites and Russian energy facilities.
Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratiev explained that the wreckage of the drone caused a fire at a marine station. The Ukrainian military did not comment on the attack in Krasnodar but announced that its forces targeted an oil preparation and pumping station in the Volgograd region overnight, in addition to targets in the Russian-controlled Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions.
These attacks came after Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces targeted several infrastructure sites deep within Russia, including a military factory that he said supplies Russia with components used in drones and missiles.
