فيما تواصل إسرائيل هجماتها على جنوب لبنان بعد أن أصدرت اليوم (السبت) إنذارات لخمس قرى، كشفت مصادر مطلعة أبرز النقاشات التي جرت في المباحثات الأمنية بين لبنان وإسرائيل بمقر وزارة الدفاع الأمريكية (البنتاغون) في واشنطن.
وذكرت المصادر أن المباحثات استمرت أكثر من تسع ساعات، وركزت على سلاح حزب الله والطائرات المسيّرة. ورغم ذلك، لم يشر «البنتاغون» إلى أي تفاصيل بشأن المباحثات، واكتفى بالقول إن الوفدين اللبناني والإسرائيلي، وبحضور نائب وزير الدفاع الأمريكي إلبريدج كولبي، انخرطا في محادثات عسكرية مثمرة ركزت على بناء أطر للأمن والاستقرار الإقليميين، مبيناً أن نتائجها ستشكل رافداً للمسار السياسي الذي تقوده وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية.
وأشار إلى أن واشنطن تدعم سيادة لبنان وسلامة أراضيه وخلوّه من الجهات المسلحة غير التابعة للدولة، مرحباً بالتزام الجيشين اللبناني والإسرائيلي بهذه الجهود.
وأكدت الوزارة أن هذه الخطوات ضرورية لتحقيق رؤية الرئيس دونالد ترمب لإحلال سلام دائم في الشرق الأوسط.
من جانبها، أفادت هيئة البث الإسرائيلية بأن المفاوضات ناقشت إمكانية التوصل إلى اتفاق أوسع لوقف إطلاق النار يشمل أيضاً نزع سلاح حزب الله. وبينت أن ممثلي الجيش الإسرائيلي ركزوا خلال المحادثات على ملف الطائرات المسيّرة التابعة للحزب والمنشآت العسكرية الواقعة شمال نهر الليطاني، وقدموا خرائط لمواقع قالوا إنها تابعة للحزب، مطالبين الجيش اللبناني بالتحرك لتفكيكها ومصادرة أسلحتها.
وقال مسؤولون إسرائيليون للهيئة إن بيروت طالبت خلال المحادثات بانسحاب إسرائيل من جنوب لبنان، إلا أن إسرائيل أبلغت الوسطاء بأنها لن تنسحب ما دام التهديد قائماً في المنطقة.
وتطالب إسرائيل بتطبيع أمني مع لبنان، وهو ما ترفضه بيروت باعتبار أن هذا القرار سياسي وليس عسكرياً، بحسب وسائل إعلام لبنانية.
وتمثل المباحثات التي جرت أمس في واشنطن تمهيداً لجولة جديدة من المفاوضات السياسية بين إسرائيل ولبنان، من المقرر عقدها يومي الثلاثاء والأربعاء القادمين في وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية بواشنطن.
وتشكل الجولة القادمة استكمالاً للجولات الثلاث السابقة التي عقدت بين بيروت وتل أبيب في واشنطن، بواقع جولتين خلال أبريل، وأخرى يومي 14 و15 مايو الماضي.
As Israel continues its attacks on southern Lebanon after issuing warnings to five villages today (Saturday), informed sources revealed the main discussions that took place during the security talks between Lebanon and Israel at the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) in Washington.
Sources mentioned that the discussions lasted more than nine hours and focused on Hezbollah's weapons and drones. Nevertheless, the Pentagon did not provide any details regarding the talks, stating only that the Lebanese and Israeli delegations, with the presence of U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby, engaged in fruitful military discussions that focused on building frameworks for regional security and stability, indicating that the results would serve as a support for the political path led by the U.S. State Department.
It noted that Washington supports Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity and its being free of non-state armed groups, welcoming the commitment of both the Lebanese and Israeli armies to these efforts.
The department emphasized that these steps are essential to achieving President Donald Trump's vision for establishing lasting peace in the Middle East.
For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the negotiations discussed the possibility of reaching a broader ceasefire agreement that also includes the disarmament of Hezbollah. It indicated that representatives of the Israeli army focused during the talks on the file of the party's drones and military facilities located north of the Litani River, providing maps of locations they claimed belonged to the party, demanding that the Lebanese army take action to dismantle them and confiscate their weapons.
Israeli officials told the authority that Beirut demanded during the talks the withdrawal of Israel from southern Lebanon, but Israel informed the mediators that it would not withdraw as long as the threat in the region persists.
Israel is demanding a security normalization with Lebanon, which Beirut refuses, considering that this decision is political rather than military, according to Lebanese media.
The talks that took place yesterday in Washington represent a preparation for a new round of political negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, scheduled to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at the U.S. State Department in Washington.
The upcoming round will complete the three previous rounds that took place between Beirut and Tel Aviv in Washington, with two rounds in April and another on May 14 and 15.
