فيما تتواصل الجهود الباكستانية لحل الخلافات بين أمريكا وإيران، أعلن مصدر دبلوماسي في إسلام أباد، أن قائد الجيش الباكستاني عاصم منير، سيتوجه إلى طهران اليوم (الجمعة)، في إطار الوساطة في محادثت السلام بين أمريكا وإيران. بحسب ما نقلت وكالة إرنا الإيرانية.
وكانت مصادر مطلعة أكدت أن منير لن يزور طهران ما لم يحصل اختراق ما أو تفاؤل بتذليل بعض العقبات. وأوضحت أن قائد الجيش الباكستاني ينتظر نتائج مباحثات وزير الداخلية محسن نقوي مع المسؤولين الإيرانيين، قبل أن يتوجه إلى العاصمة الإيرانية.
وكشف مصدر باكستاني أن التفاؤل الحذر كان عنوان الاتصالات الجارية حول اتفاق محتمل بين الجانبين الأمريكي والإيراني. وشدد على أنه «لا بديل عن اتفاق مرحلي بين الطرفين». وأفصح أن «تقليل الفجوات ليس سهلاً لأن لدى الطرفين سقفاً عالياً من المطالب».
ولفت المصدر إلى أن «الاتصالات مستمرة لتقليل الفجوة بملفي اليورانيوم ومضيق هرمز»، موضحاً أن «عقدة المفاوضات كانت ولا تزال كيفية التعامل مع اليورانيوم عالي التخصيب». وأضاف أن القضايا الكبرى في الاتفاق تحتاج لمدى زمني طويل بالتفاوض، لافتاً إلى أن باكستان تعوّل على الصين كثيراً لدفع الاتفاق المحتمل بين أمريكا وإيران.
من جانبه، أعلن رئيس البرلمان الإيراني وكبير مفاوضي إيران مع الولايات المتحدة محمد باقر قاليباف تعيين المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي، متحدثاً باسم وفد التفاوض الإيراني، وفق ما ذكر التلفزيون الرسمي.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام إيرانية رسمية عن بحرية الحرس الثوري الإيراني قولها إن 35 سفينة بينها ناقلات نفط، وسفن حاويات، وسفن تجارية أخرى عبرت مضيق هرمز خلال 24 ساعة الماضية.
As Pakistani efforts continue to resolve the disputes between the United States and Iran, a diplomatic source in Islamabad announced that the Pakistani Army Chief, Asim Munir, will head to Tehran today (Friday) as part of the mediation in the peace talks between the U.S. and Iran, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.
Informed sources confirmed that Munir would not visit Tehran unless there was a breakthrough or optimism about overcoming some obstacles. They explained that the Pakistani Army Chief is awaiting the results of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi's discussions with Iranian officials before heading to the Iranian capital.
A Pakistani source revealed that cautious optimism has characterized the ongoing communications regarding a potential agreement between the American and Iranian sides. He emphasized that "there is no alternative to a phased agreement between the two parties." He disclosed that "reducing the gaps is not easy because both sides have high demands."
The source pointed out that "communications are ongoing to narrow the gap on the uranium and Strait of Hormuz issues," explaining that "the crux of the negotiations has been and remains how to deal with highly enriched uranium." He added that major issues in the agreement require a long timeframe for negotiation, noting that Pakistan is relying heavily on China to push for a potential agreement between the U.S. and Iran.
For his part, the Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator with the United States, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, announced the appointment of Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqaei as the spokesperson for the Iranian negotiating delegation, according to state television.
Iranian state media reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that 35 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial ships, have crossed the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours.
