في إطار جهودها الإنسانية والخدمية السعودية، نفذت قيادة قوة السعودية في سقطرى (808 للدعم والإسناد) عملية دعم لأهالي جزيرة سمحة، عبر استئجار قوارب لنقل المواطنين واحتياجاتهم الأساسية من محافظة أرخبيل سقطرى إلى جزيرة سمحة، بالتنسيق مع السلطة المحلية بالمحافظة.
وشملت عملية النقل إيصال المواد الغذائية والأدوية والاحتياجات الضرورية للأهالي، ضمن الاستعدادات المبكرة لموسم الرياح الموسمية، الذي يؤدي سنوياً إلى صعوبة التنقل بين جزر الأرخبيل وانقطاعها عن بعضها وعن البر اليمني نتيجة التغيرات المناخية واضطراب الأحوال الجوية.
وتأتي هذه المبادرة في ظل الحاجة الملحة لتأمين احتياجات سكان الجزر النائية قبل بدء موسم العزلة البحرية، بما يسهم في تخفيف معاناتهم وضمان توفر الاحتياجات الأساسية خلال الفترة القادمة.
وعبّر الزعيم القبلي لجزيرة سالم سعد عن شكره وتقديره لقيادة قوة 808 للدعم والإسناد على هذه اللفتة الإنسانية، مثمناً جهود القوة في نقل الأهالي واحتياجات الجزيرة، وحرصها على تأمين السكان خلال فترة الرياح الموسمية التي تشهدها جزر سقطرى سنوياً.
As part of its humanitarian and service efforts, the Saudi leadership of the Saudi Forces in Socotra (808 for Support and Assistance) carried out a support operation for the residents of Samha Island by renting boats to transport citizens and their basic needs from the Socotra Archipelago Governorate to Samha Island, in coordination with the local authority in the governorate.
The transportation operation included delivering food supplies, medicines, and essential needs for the residents, as part of the early preparations for the monsoon season, which annually leads to difficulties in transportation between the islands of the archipelago and their isolation from each other and from the Yemeni mainland due to climate changes and unstable weather conditions.
This initiative comes in light of the urgent need to secure the needs of the residents of the remote islands before the onset of the maritime isolation season, contributing to alleviating their suffering and ensuring the availability of basic necessities during the upcoming period.
The tribal leader of Salim Island, Saad, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the 808 Support and Assistance Force for this humanitarian gesture, commending the force's efforts in transporting residents and the needs of the island, and its commitment to securing the population during the monsoon season that the Socotra Islands experience annually.
