أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي، دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن إيران وافقت على عدم امتلاك سلاح نووي وأمور أخرى، موضحاً أن طهران «لا يمكن أن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً».
وقال ترمب، خلال تصريحات للصحفيين في البيت الأبيض: «الأمر بسيط جداً، إيران لا يمكن أن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً»، مشدداً بالقول: «لو حصلت إيران على سلاح نووي سيصبح العالم رهينة بيدها».
وأشار إلى أن الولايات المتحدة تريد إبقاء الجميع على قيد الحياة، موضحاً أنه كان مستعداً للخسائر الاقتصادية للتخلص من قيادة «مجنونة» في إيران.
وأضاف: «إيران لا يمكن أن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً، ولن تمتلكه، وقد وافقوا على ذلك، إلى جانب أمور أخرى»، لافتاً إلى أن هناك محادثات جيدة للغاية جرت مع إيران خلال الساعات الـ24 الماضية.
وكان ترمب قد قال لشبكة «PBS News» الأمريكية، إن الاتفاق المحتمل مع إيران قد يشمل نقل مخزونها من اليورانيوم عالي التخصيب إلى الولايات المتحدة، مع تجميد تشغيل المنشآت النووية تحت الأرض لفترة طويلة، في إطار ما وصفه بإبداء حسن النية.
ونفى الرئيس الأمريكي أن يتضمن الاتفاق تحديد مستوى تخصيب إيران عند 3.67%، قائلاً: «لا، هذا ليس جزءاً من الاتفاق»، وأن هذه النسبة «ضئيلة جداً»، موضحاً أن الولايات المتحدة قد تخفف العقوبات المفروضة على إيران إذا تم التوصل إلى اتفاق.
في الوقت ذاته قال وزير خارجية باكستان إسحاق دار: نبذل قصارى جهدنا لعقد مفاوضات مباشرة بين أمريكا وإيران، موضحاً أن بلاده نجحت في تمديد وقف النار وإيقاف مقتل المئات يومياً.
وأشار إلى أن باكستان تسعى إلى إنهاء دائم للحرب بين أمريكا وإيران.
وكانت موقع «أكسيوس» قد نقل عن مسؤولين أمريكيين ومصادر مطلعة، قولها إن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب تعتقد أنها أصبحت قريبة من التوصل إلى اتفاق مع إيران بشأن مذكرة تفاهم من صفحة واحدة تهدف إلى إنهاء الحرب، ووضع إطار لمفاوضات نووية أكثر تفصيلاً.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced today (Wednesday) that Iran has agreed not to possess nuclear weapons and other matters, clarifying that Tehran "cannot have a nuclear weapon."
Trump stated during remarks to reporters at the White House: "It's very simple, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon," emphasizing: "If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, the world will be held hostage by it."
He pointed out that the United States wants to keep everyone alive, explaining that he was willing to accept economic losses to rid the world of a "crazy" leadership in Iran.
He added: "Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, and it will not have one, and they have agreed to that, along with other matters," noting that there have been very good talks with Iran over the past 24 hours.
Trump had told PBS News that a potential agreement with Iran could include transferring its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the United States, with a long-term freeze on the operation of underground nuclear facilities, as part of what he described as a show of goodwill.
The U.S. president denied that the agreement would set Iran's enrichment level at 3.67%, saying: "No, that's not part of the agreement," and that this percentage is "very small," explaining that the United States might ease sanctions on Iran if an agreement is reached.
At the same time, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said: "We are doing our utmost to hold direct negotiations between the U.S. and Iran," explaining that his country has succeeded in extending the ceasefire and stopping the daily killings of hundreds.
He noted that Pakistan is seeking a permanent end to the war between the U.S. and Iran.
The Axios website reported that U.S. officials and informed sources stated that the Trump administration believes it is close to reaching an agreement with Iran on a one-page memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war and establishing a framework for more detailed nuclear negotiations.
