وصف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الثلاثاء)، القيادات الإيرانية بـ«المختلين عقلياً»، موضحاً أنه لن يسمح لهم بامتلاك النووي.
وقال ترمب خلال فعالية في البيت الأبيض: «النظام في إيران يتكون من أشخاص مرضى نفسياً ولن نسمح للمجانين بالحصول على سلاح نووي»، مبيناً أن إيران لا بحرية لديها ولا قوات جوية وقد تم تدمير ذلك بالكامل وقتل القادة.
وأضاف: «نخوض مناوشة عسكرية صغيرة وإيران لا تملك أي فرصة ولم تكن تملكها أبداً»، لافتاً إلى أن ما تملكه إيران الآن مجرد قوارب صغيرة مزودة بمدافع رشاشة.
وشدد ترمب بالقول: نقوم بعمل جيد في إيران وكل سفن إيران غارقة في البحر وكل شيء تم محوه، مضيفاً: نبلي بلاء حسنا في الملف الإيراني وأولويتنا هي الأمن القومي الأمريكي.
وتابع ترمب: «الولايات المتحدة هزمت إيران بأشواط، ومحونا أسطولها البحري وأغرقنا 149 سفينة»، متهماً النظام الإيراني بقتل 42 ألف متظاهر.
وقال ترمب: «ما لا يعجبني بسلوك إيران أنهم يتحدثون معي بإحترام وتقدير ثم يقولون أنهم لم يتحدثوا معي»، كاشفاً عن أطلاق إيران 111صاروخاً على حاملة الطائرات الأمريكية أثناء العمريات العسكرية واسقطت جميعها.
من جهة أخرى، نقل موقع أكسيوس عن مسوؤلين أمريكيين قولهم: حذرنا إيران قبل بدء عملية «الحرية» في «هرمز» من التدخل، موضحين أن ترمب قد يأمر باستئناف العمليات ضد إيران هذا الأسبوع.
وكان رئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة الأمريكي دان كين قد قال في وقت سابق اليوم، الرئيس أمر بإطلاق مشروع الحرية لضمان عبور آمن للسفن في مضيق هرمز، متهماً إيران بانتهك قانون البحار.
وأشار إلى أن قواته سجلت إطلاق نار عشوائياً من الجانب الإيراني، وهددت حركة الشحن بمضيق هرمز خلال الأسابيع السبعة الماضية، مبيناً أن إيران أطلقت النار على سفن تجارية 9 مرات منذ الإعلان عن وقف إطلاق النار.
وأكد دان كين أن قواته على أهبة الاستعداد لاستئناف القتال ضد إيران حال صدور الأوامر بذلك، موضحاً أن إيران هاجمت قواته 10 مرات منذ إعلان وقف إطلاق النار.
وحث رئيس الأركان الأمريكي العالم على التحرك من أجل حرية العبور في مضيق هرمز، مبيناً أن الحصار البحري على إيران صامد.
U.S. President Donald Trump described Iranian leaders today (Tuesday) as "mentally ill," stating that he will not allow them to possess nuclear weapons.
Trump said during an event at the White House: "The regime in Iran is made up of psychologically sick people, and we will not allow the madmen to obtain a nuclear weapon," explaining that Iran has no navy or air force, which has been completely destroyed along with its leaders.
He added: "We are engaged in a small military skirmish, and Iran has no chance and has never had one," pointing out that what Iran currently possesses are just small boats equipped with machine guns.
Trump emphasized by saying: "We are doing well in Iran, and all of Iran's ships are sunk in the sea, and everything has been erased," adding: "We are performing well on the Iranian file, and our priority is U.S. national security."
Trump continued: "The United States has defeated Iran by a wide margin, we have wiped out its naval fleet and sunk 149 ships," accusing the Iranian regime of killing 42,000 protesters.
Trump said: "What I don't like about Iran's behavior is that they talk to me with respect and appreciation and then say they never spoke to me," revealing that Iran launched 111 missiles at the U.S. aircraft carrier during military operations, all of which were shot down.
On another note, Axios reported that U.S. officials said: "We warned Iran before the start of Operation 'Freedom' in 'Hormuz' against interference," explaining that Trump may order the resumption of operations against Iran this week.
Earlier today, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Dan Keen said the president ordered the launch of the Freedom Project to ensure safe passage for ships in the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Iran of violating maritime law.
He noted that his forces recorded random gunfire from the Iranian side, threatening shipping in the Strait of Hormuz over the past seven weeks, indicating that Iran has fired on commercial ships 9 times since the announcement of the ceasefire.
Dan Keen confirmed that his forces are on high alert to resume fighting against Iran if orders are given, explaining that Iran has attacked his forces 10 times since the ceasefire was announced.
The U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs urged the world to act for freedom of passage in the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that the maritime blockade on Iran remains steadfast.
