أعلن الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون اليوم (الأربعاء) أن بلاده بانتظار تحديد موعد من قِبَل الولايات المتحدة لبدء المفاوضات مع إسرائيل، مؤكداً حرصه في كل خطوة متصلة بالمفاوضات على التنسيق والتشاور مع رئيسي مجلس النواب والحكومة.
وقال عون خلال استقباله وفداً من الهيئات الاقتصادية: في كل خطوة اتخذتها في ما يتعلق بالمفاوضات كنت على تنسيق وتشاور مع رئيسي مجلس النواب والحكومة، على عكس ما يحكى في الإعلام، أما بالنسبة للانتقادات بأن لبنان وافق من خلال البيان الأمريكي الذي صدر على إثر المحادثات الثلاثية في واشنطن، على منح إسرائيل حرية استكمال اعتداءتها على لبنان، فأقول إن هذا الكلام ورد في بيان صدر عن وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية، وهو نفس النص الذي اعتمد في نوفمبر 2024 والذي وافق عليه جميع الأطراف في حينه وهو بيان وليس اتفاق، لأن الاتفاق يتم بعد انتهاء المفاوضات.
تدمير القرى الحدودية
وأضاف: نبذل كل جهد ممكن للوصول إلى حل للوضع الراهن بعيداً عن العنف والدماء، وهذا الحل يتحقق بالمفاوضات، مشيراً إلى أنه إذا اعتقدت إسرائيل أنها من خلال الانتهاكات وتدمير القرى الحدودية، بإمكانها الحصول على الأمن، فهي مخطئة، لأنها جربت ذلك قبلاً ولم يؤدِ ذلك إلى نتيجة.
وأشار إلى أن الأمر الوحيد الذي يمكن أن يحمي الحدود هو عندما تكون الدولة اللبنانية بكامل قوتها موجودة في كامل الجنوب وحتى الحدود الدولية.
ولفت إلى أن على إسرائيل أن تدرك بشكل نهائي أن الطريق الوحيد للأمن هو عبر المفاوضات، لكن عليها أولاً تنفيذ وقف إطلاق النار بشكل كامل للانتقال بعدها إلى المفاوضات، مبيناً أن هناك صعوبات كثيرة تعترضنا لتحقيق الاستقرار، ونعمل قدر المستطاع للتخفيف من تبعات الاعتداءات العسكرية على لبنان، ونقوم باتصالات مكثفة من أجل ذلك، فلا يجوز أن تستمر الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على حالها بعد إعلان وقف إطلاق النار.
دعم أوروبي وعربي للبنان
وشدد بالقول: «نحن الآن بانتظار تحديد موعد من قبل الولايات المتحدة لبدء المفاوضات»، مبيناً أن دول الاتحاد الأوروبي بأسرها والدول العربية دعمت خيار لبنان للمفاوضات، وهناك إجماع على مستوى الشعب اللبناني، وخصوصاً أهل الجنوب، على ضرورة الانتهاء من الحرب.
وأكد عون أن الملف اللبناني بات اليوم على طاولة الرئيس الأمريكي، الذي يحمل مكانة خاصة للبنان، وقد أشاد خلال الاتصال الهاتفي بيننا بشكل مؤثر بلبنان وشعبه، وهذه فرصة لنا اليوم علينا الاستفادة منها للعبور ببلدنا الى شاطئ الأمان والسلام.
من جهة أخرى، نقلت قناة 12 الإسرائيلية عن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قوله: طلبت من نتنياهو العمل في لبنان بحذر أكبر وعدم إسقاط مبانٍ، فذلك يضر بصورة إسرائيل، مضيفاً: نعمل لمنع انهيار وقف إطلاق النار في لبنان خلال الأسبوعين القادمين وما بعدهما.
ترمب يحب لبنان وشعبه
وأشار إلى أنه يحب لبنان وقيادته والمشكلة هي حزب الله، مبيناً أن إيران دمرت لبنان من خلال ذراعها حزب الله.
ولفت إلى أن لبنان يمكن أن يعود كما كان عندما ننهي الأمر مع إيران ثم حزب الله بالنتيجة.
في المقابل، قال رئيس أركان الجيش الإسرائيلي إيال زامير: قد يطلب منا البقاء داخل الخط الأصفر في لبنان حتى ضمان أمن سكان الشمال لأمد طويل، مضيفاً: نواصل القتال في لبنان ونعمل على ضمان تعميق الإنجازات العسكرية وحماية قواتنا ولن نسمح بوجود جيش على حدودنا ولا تراجع للعمليات العسكرية.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced today (Wednesday) that his country is waiting for the United States to set a date to begin negotiations with Israel, emphasizing his commitment to coordinate and consult with the Speakers of the Parliament and the Government at every step related to the negotiations.
During his reception of a delegation from the economic bodies, Aoun said: "In every step I have taken regarding the negotiations, I have coordinated and consulted with the Speakers of the Parliament and the Government, contrary to what is said in the media. As for the criticisms that Lebanon agreed through the American statement issued following the tripartite talks in Washington to grant Israel the freedom to continue its aggressions against Lebanon, I say that this statement was included in a statement issued by the U.S. State Department, which is the same text adopted in November 2024 and approved by all parties at the time; it is a statement, not an agreement, because an agreement is made after the negotiations conclude."
Destruction of Border Villages
He added: "We are making every possible effort to reach a solution to the current situation away from violence and bloodshed, and this solution is achieved through negotiations," pointing out that if Israel believes that through violations and the destruction of border villages it can achieve security, it is mistaken, as it has tried that before and it did not lead to any results.
He indicated that the only thing that can protect the borders is when the Lebanese state is fully present with all its strength in the entire south and up to the international borders.
He emphasized that Israel must realize definitively that the only path to security is through negotiations, but it must first fully implement a ceasefire before moving on to negotiations, explaining that there are many difficulties obstructing us from achieving stability, and we are doing everything possible to mitigate the repercussions of military aggressions against Lebanon, and we are making intensive contacts for that purpose, as Israeli aggressions should not continue as they are after the announcement of a ceasefire.
European and Arab Support for Lebanon
He stressed by saying: "We are now waiting for the United States to set a date to begin negotiations," indicating that all European Union countries and Arab states have supported Lebanon's choice for negotiations, and there is a consensus among the Lebanese people, especially the people of the south, on the necessity of ending the war.
Aoun confirmed that the Lebanese file is now on the table of the U.S. President, who holds a special place for Lebanon, and he praised Lebanon and its people in a touching manner during our phone call, and this is an opportunity for us today that we must take advantage of to lead our country to the shores of safety and peace.
On another note, Israeli Channel 12 reported U.S. President Donald Trump as saying: "I asked Netanyahu to act more cautiously in Lebanon and not to demolish buildings, as that harms Israel's image," adding: "We are working to prevent the collapse of the ceasefire in Lebanon over the next two weeks and beyond."
Trump Loves Lebanon and Its People
He noted that he loves Lebanon and its leadership, and the problem is Hezbollah, pointing out that Iran has destroyed Lebanon through its arm, Hezbollah.
He indicated that Lebanon can return to what it was when we resolve the issue with Iran and then with Hezbollah as a result.
In contrast, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said: "We may be asked to remain within the yellow line in Lebanon until we ensure the long-term security of the northern residents," adding: "We continue to fight in Lebanon and are working to ensure the deepening of military achievements and protecting our forces, and we will not allow an army on our borders nor a retreat from military operations."
