لم يكشف رئيس جهاز الموساد ديفيد برنياع، خلال مراسم إحياء ذكرى عناصر الجهاز أمس (الثلاثاء)، سوى إشارات مقتضبة عن مقتل عميل إسرائيلي يُشار إليه بالحرف «م» خارج البلاد، مكتفيًا بالإشادة بدوره، قائلاً إن عملياته «جمعت بين الإبداع والدهاء والتكنولوجيا»، وأسهمت بشكل كبير في نجاح الحملة ضد إيران.
إيطاليا تكسر الغموض
في المقابل، سارعت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية وإيطالية إلى فك جزء من اللغز، مرجّحة أن المقصود هو عميل لقي مصرعه في مايو 2023 إثر حادثة غرق في بحيرة ماجوري شمال ميلانو، قرب الحدود السويسرية، في واقعة أثارت آنذاك تساؤلات واسعة حول طبيعة المهمة.
قارب استخباراتي.. وعاصفة مفاجئة
وبحسب التقارير، كان على متن القارب 21 شخصًا، بينهم 11 عنصرًا من الموساد و10 مرتبطين بالمخابرات الإيطالية، يعملون ضمن شبكة مشتركة انطلقت من منزل يُستخدم كقاعدة عمليات في إيطاليا. وخلال رحلة بحرية على متن قارب قديم، باغتتهم عاصفة مفاجئة على بُعد مئات الأمتار من الشاطئ، ما أدى إلى انقلابه وغرقه، ومقتل أربعة أشخاص، بينهم إسرائيلي.
«زئير الأسد».. عملية تكشف الدور
برنياع أعاد التلميح إلى «م» عند حديثه عن عملية «زئير الأسد»، مؤكدًا أن العميل لعب دورًا محوريًا في جمع معلومات استخباراتية تتعلق بالحرب الإسرائيلية على إيران، وأن إسهاماته كانت حاسمة في نجاح العملية.
هوية مرجّحة وإخفاء سريع
ورغم تمسك الموساد بالصمت حيال الهوية، كشفت تقارير إيطالية، بينها صحيفة «لا ريبوبليكا»، أن العميل يُدعى إيريز شيموني. كما أشارت إلى أن الإسرائيليين الآخرين نُقلوا سريعًا بطائرة خاصة إلى تل أبيب، في حين اختفت بيانات تسجيلهم من الفندق الذي أقاموا فيه، ما زاد من غموض الحادثة وأبعادها الاستخباراتية.

In contrast, Israeli and Italian media rushed to unravel part of the mystery, suggesting that the individual in question is an agent who died in May 2023 due to a drowning incident in Lake Maggiore north of Milan, near the Swiss border, in an event that raised widespread questions at the time about the nature of the mission.
Intelligence Boat.. and a Sudden Storm
According to reports, there were 21 people on board the boat, including 11 Mossad agents and 10 associated with the Italian intelligence, working within a joint network that launched from a house used as an operations base in Italy. During a maritime journey on an old boat, they were caught off guard by a sudden storm just hundreds of meters from the shore, causing it to capsize and sink, resulting in the deaths of four people, including an Israeli.
"Lion's Roar".. Operation Reveals the Role
Barnea hinted again at "M" when discussing the "Lion's Roar" operation, confirming that the agent played a pivotal role in gathering intelligence related to the Israeli war on Iran, and that his contributions were crucial to the success of the operation.
Probable Identity and Quick Concealment
Despite the Mossad's insistence on silence regarding the identity, Italian reports, including the newspaper "La Repubblica," revealed that the agent is named Erez Shimoni. They also indicated that the other Israelis were quickly transported by private jet to Tel Aviv, while their registration data disappeared from the hotel where they stayed, further increasing the mystery surrounding the incident and its intelligence dimensions.
