شدد الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي، على أن أمن مصر المائي هو قضية وجودية وأولوية قصوى بالنسبة لمصر، مؤكداً أن مصر لن تتهاون في مصالحها المائية الوجودية.
وأكد السيسي، خلال استقباله كبير مستشاري رئيس الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية للشؤون العربية والأفريقية مسعد بولس، اليوم (الإثنين)، على جهود مصر الرامية لتحقيق الاستقرار في منطقة القرن الأفريقي، ورفضها القاطع لأي إجراءات من شأنها تهديد الأمن والاستقرار بدول المنطقة.
وبحسب بيان صادر عن الرئاسة المصرية، تناول اللقاء التطورات في السودان، حيث تم التأكيد على ضرورة بذل كل الجهود والمساعي اللازمة لإنهاء الحرب ووقف المعاناة الإنسانية للشعب السوداني.
وقال متحدث الرئاسة السفير محمد الشناوي إن السيسي رحب بتعهد المجتمع الدولي بمبلغ مليار ونصف المليار يورو خلال مؤتمر برلين الذي عقد أخيرا للاستجابة للاحتياجات الإنسانية في السودان، كما أكد على الرؤية المصرية تجاه الأزمة السودانية، القائمة على ضرورة ضمان سيادة ووحدة السودان.
وشدد السيسي على رفض التدخلات الخارجية ومحاولات النيل من أمنه واستقراره أو إحداث فراغ سياسي به، منوهاً بانخراط مصر النشط ضمن الآلية الرباعية لوقف الحرب وتدشين مسار سياسي يقود إلى حل سلمي مستدام للأزمة.
ومن جانبه، أشاد المبعوث الأمريكي بمواقف مصر الرامية لاستعادة الأمن والاستقرار في السودان، مؤكداً حرص الولايات المتحدة على التنسيق الوثيق مع مصر ودول الرباعية في هذا الإطار.
وأشار المتحدث الرسمي إلى أن اللقاء بحث مستجدات الوضع في لبنان، حيث أثنى السيسي على المجهود الذي بذله الرئيس ترمب للتوصل إلى وقف لإطلاق النار في لبنان.
وتناول الاجتماع كذلك عدداً من القضايا الإقليمية محل الاهتمام المشترك بين مصر والولايات المتحدة، حيث أعرب السيسي في هذا السياق، عن ترحيب مصر باتفاق الحكومة الكونغولية وحركة M23 على توسيع الآلية الإقليمية المشتركة المعززة لرصد وقف إطلاق النار الموقع أخيرا، مؤكداً دعم مصر للجهود الأمريكية في هذا الصدد.
وبحسب البيان المصري، عكس اللقاء استمرار توافق الرؤى المصرية- الأمريكية حول ضرورة خفض التصعيد وإيجاد حلول سياسية لمختلف الأزمات الإقليمية.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt's water security is an existential issue and a top priority for Egypt, affirming that Egypt will not compromise on its existential water interests.
El-Sisi, during his meeting with the Senior Advisor to the President of the United States for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, today (Monday), reiterated Egypt's efforts to achieve stability in the Horn of Africa and its firm rejection of any actions that could threaten the security and stability of the countries in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, the meeting addressed developments in Sudan, where the necessity of making every effort and endeavor to end the war and stop the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people was emphasized.
The presidential spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated that El-Sisi welcomed the international community's pledge of one and a half billion euros during the recent Berlin conference to respond to the humanitarian needs in Sudan, and he affirmed the Egyptian vision regarding the Sudanese crisis, which is based on ensuring the sovereignty and unity of Sudan.
El-Sisi stressed the rejection of external interventions and attempts to undermine its security and stability or create a political vacuum, noting Egypt's active engagement within the Quadruple Mechanism to stop the war and initiate a political path leading to a sustainable peaceful solution to the crisis.
For his part, the American envoy praised Egypt's positions aimed at restoring security and stability in Sudan, affirming the United States' commitment to closely coordinate with Egypt and the countries of the Quadruple Mechanism in this regard.
The official spokesperson indicated that the meeting discussed the latest developments in Lebanon, where El-Sisi praised the efforts made by President Trump to reach a ceasefire in Lebanon.
The meeting also addressed several regional issues of mutual interest between Egypt and the United States, where El-Sisi, in this context, expressed Egypt's welcome of the agreement between the Congolese government and the M23 movement to expand the enhanced joint regional mechanism to monitor the recently signed ceasefire, affirming Egypt's support for American efforts in this regard.
According to the Egyptian statement, the meeting reflected the continued alignment of Egyptian-American visions regarding the necessity of de-escalation and finding political solutions to various regional crises.
