أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، مكافأةً تصل إلى 10 ملايين دولار مقابل معلومات عن زعيم جماعة حزب الله في العراق أحمد الحميداوي.
وأكد برنامج «مكافآت من أجل العدالة» التابع لوزارة الخارجية الأمريكية أن الحميداوي قتل مدنيين أبرياء، واختطف مواطنين أمريكيين، وشن هجمات علي المنشآت، مؤكدة على حسابها في «إكس» أن الحميداوي شن هجمات على المنشآت الدبلوماسية الأمريكية.
وأشار البرنامج إلى أن تلك الجرائم دفعت الإدارة الأمريكية لعرض مكافأة تصل إلى 10 ملايين دولار مقابل معلومات عن أحمد الحميداوي، مشددة على ضرورة مساعدة الإدارة الأمريكية في إيقاف العنف، والقبض على الحميداوي عبر أرقام حددتها في الإعلان.
تأتي الخطوة الأمريكية بإعلان مكافأة مالية كبيرة مقابل معلومات عن قيادات في جماعات مسلحة ضمن سياق أوسع من الجهود التي تبذلها واشنطن لملاحقة الأفراد المتهمين بتهديد الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
وتُعد الساحة العراقية واحدة من أبرز البيئات التي تنشط فيها جماعات مسلحة مرتبطة بأجندات إقليمية، إذ تصاعدت خلال السنوات الماضية وتيرة الهجمات التي تستهدف منشآت دبلوماسية وقواعد عسكرية، فضلاً عن حوادث اختطاف واعتداءات طالت مدنيين.
وتعتمد وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية عبر برنامج «مكافآت من أجل العدالة» على تحفيز الأفراد لتقديم معلومات تُسهم في تعقب المطلوبين المتورطين في أعمال عنف أو إرهاب، في إطار استراتيجية تجمع بين العمل الاستخباراتي والضغط القانوني. ويُنظر إلى هذه الخطوة على أنها رسالة ردع واضحة، مفادها أن استهداف المصالح الأمريكية أو تهديد المدنيين لن يمر دون ملاحقة، مهما طال الزمن.
وفي ظل التوترات المستمرة في المنطقة، تعكس هذه الإجراءات تصاعد القلق الدولي من تنامي نفوذ الجماعات المسلحة، وما يرافق ذلك من مخاطر على الأمن الإقليمي، خصوصاً في ظل ارتباط بعض هذه الجماعات بشبكات عابرة للحدود، وهو ما يعقّد جهود الاستقرار ويجعل من ملاحقة قياداتها أولوية لدى العديد من الدول.
The U.S. Department of State announced today (Tuesday) a reward of up to $10 million for information on the leader of the Hezbollah group in Iraq, Ahmad al-Hamidawi.
The "Rewards for Justice" program of the U.S. Department of State confirmed that al-Hamidawi has killed innocent civilians, kidnapped American citizens, and launched attacks on facilities, emphasizing on its account on "X" that al-Hamidawi has attacked U.S. diplomatic facilities.
The program noted that these crimes prompted the U.S. administration to offer a reward of up to $10 million for information on Ahmad al-Hamidawi, stressing the need for assistance from the U.S. administration in stopping the violence and capturing al-Hamidawi through numbers specified in the announcement.
The U.S. step of announcing a large financial reward for information about leaders in armed groups is part of a broader context of efforts by Washington to pursue individuals accused of threatening security and stability in the region.
The Iraqi arena is considered one of the most prominent environments where armed groups linked to regional agendas operate, as the frequency of attacks targeting diplomatic facilities and military bases has increased in recent years, in addition to incidents of kidnapping and assaults on civilians.
The U.S. Department of State relies through the "Rewards for Justice" program on incentivizing individuals to provide information that contributes to tracking down wanted persons involved in acts of violence or terrorism, as part of a strategy that combines intelligence work with legal pressure.
