أعلنت وزارة الداخلية الكويتية أن جهاز أمن الدولة تمكن -بعد عمليات رصد ومتابعة أمنية دقيقة- من إحباط مخطط إرهابي وضبط شبكة مكونة من خمسة مواطنين وشخص غير كويتي سُحبت جنسيته، ورصد وتحديد 14 متهماً هاربين خارج البلاد، من بينهم خمسة مواطنين وخمسة أشخاص غير كويتيين سُحبت جنسياتهم، وشخصان من الجنسية الإيرانية، وشخصان من الجنسية اللبنانية.
ارتباط بالخلية الإرهابية
وأوضحت الوزارة أن المتهمين ثبت ارتباطهم بتنظيم «حزب الله» الإرهابي المحظور، وكانت الخلية تخطط لتنفيذ عمليات اغتيال تستهدف رموز وقيادات الدولة، وتجند أشخاصاً للقيام بهذه المهمات.
اعتراف المتهمين وخطط الاغتيال
وأشار البيان إلى أن المتهمين أقروا بالتخابر والانضمام للتنظيم الإرهابي، واستعدادهم لتنفيذ المهمات الموكلة إليهم، التي شملت اغتيال رموز الدولة والإضرار بالمصالح العليا للكويت. كما تلقوا تدريبات عسكرية متقدمة خارج البلاد على أيدي قيادات التنظيم، تضمنت استخدام الأسلحة والمفرقعات وأساليب المراقبة ومهارات الاغتيال، في صورة تمثل خيانة جسيمة للوطن وخروجاً صريحاً على الولاء والانتماء.
إحالة المتهمين واستكمال التحقيقات
وتمت إحالة المتهمين إلى النيابة العامة لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة، فيما تواصل الجهات الأمنية استكمال تحرياتها لملاحقة كل من يثبت ارتباطه أو تعاونه مع هذه الخلية أو أي تنظيمات إرهابية أخرى.
تأكيد على حماية أمن الكويت
وأكدت وزارة الداخلية أن أمن دولة الكويت وسيادتها واستقرارها الوطني خط ثابت لا يقبل المساس أو التهاون، وأن ما أقدمت عليه هذه الخلية يُعد عملاً إجرامياً بالغ الخطورة وخيانة عظيمة للوطن، مع التأكيد على اتخاذ أقصى الإجراءات القانونية بحق كل من يثبت تورطه دون تهاون أو استثناء.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced that the State Security Agency was able - after precise monitoring and security follow-up operations - to thwart a terrorist plot and apprehend a network consisting of five citizens and a non-Kuwaiti individual whose nationality was revoked, and to monitor and identify 14 fugitives outside the country, including five citizens and five non-Kuwaiti individuals whose nationalities were revoked, as well as two individuals of Iranian nationality and two individuals of Lebanese nationality.
Connection to the Terrorist Cell
The ministry clarified that the accused have been proven to be linked to the banned terrorist organization "Hezbollah," and the cell was planning to carry out assassination operations targeting state symbols and leaders, recruiting individuals to carry out these missions.
Confessions of the Accused and Assassination Plans
The statement indicated that the accused admitted to espionage and joining the terrorist organization, expressing their readiness to execute the tasks assigned to them, which included assassinating state symbols and harming Kuwait's supreme interests. They also received advanced military training abroad at the hands of the organization's leaders, which included the use of weapons, explosives, surveillance techniques, and assassination skills, representing a grave betrayal of the homeland and a blatant departure from loyalty and belonging.
Referral of the Accused and Completion of Investigations
The accused have been referred to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal actions, while security agencies continue to complete their investigations to pursue anyone proven to be connected to or cooperating with this cell or any other terrorist organizations.
Emphasis on Protecting Kuwait's Security
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that the security of the State of Kuwait, its sovereignty, and national stability is a fixed principle that cannot be compromised or neglected, and that the actions taken by this cell constitute a highly dangerous criminal act and a great betrayal of the homeland, reiterating that the utmost legal measures will be taken against anyone proven to be involved without leniency or exception.
