وسط أنباء عن مفاوضات بين أمريكا وإيران، كشفت صحيفة «ذا تايمز» البريطانية عن تحركات دولية واسعة بقيادة المملكة المتحدة والولايات المتحدة لإعادة السيطرة على ممرات الملاحة الدولية.
أهداف التحالف الدولي
وذكرت الصحيفة في تقرير اليوم (الثلاثاء)، أن بريطانيا تستعد لتولي قيادة تحالف دولي جديد يُعرف باسم «تحالف هرمز»، ويهدف بشكل مباشر إلى إعادة فتح مضيق هرمز وتأمينه بعد سلسلة من الهجمات الإيرانية وزراعة الألغام البحرية التي تسببت في تعطيل حركة التجارة العالمية ورفع أسعار النفط لمستويات قياسية.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن لندن ستنشر وحدات النخبة المتخصصة في إزالة الألغام البحرية، التي تمتلك قدرات هي الأحدث عالمياً، للعمل جنباً إلى جنب مع القوات الأمريكية والفرنسية لتطهير المضيق وضمان حرية الملاحة.
مخططون بريطانيون
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن وزارة الدفاع البريطانية أرسلت مخططين عسكريين إلى مقر القيادة المركزية الأمريكية للتنسيق اللوجستي والعملياتي، مبينة أن التحالف سيركز في مرحلته الأولى على مرافقة السفن التجارية وتوفير الحماية اللازمة لناقلات النفط الخارجة من الخليج العربي.
بدورها، نقلت الغارديان عن مسؤول بوزارة الدفاع البريطانية قوله: سنعقد اجتماعاً لرؤوساء أركان دول عدة بشأن حماية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز.
جاء ذلك في الوقت الذي ذكرت تقارير أمريكية أن الولايات المتحدة بصدد إرسال آلاف الجنود الإضافيين إلى المنطقة. وأوضح مسؤولون أمريكيون أن التعزيزات ستشمل جنوداً من الفرقة 82 المحمولة جواً، وهي قوات النخبة الأمريكية التي تُستدعى عادة في حالات الطوارئ والنزاعات الكبرى.
ولم يحدد المسؤولون، الذين تحدثوا شريطة عدم الكشف عن هوياتهم، موقع نشر القوات في الشرق الأوسط أو موعد وصولها، لكن شبكة «أي بي سي نيوز» قالت إنه من المتوقع انتشارها قريباً بعد صدور الأوامر.
ما مهمات الفرقة 82 الأمريكية؟
تُعد الفرقة 82 المحمولة جواً واحدة من أبرز وحدات النخبة في الجيش الأمريكي، وتُصنف ضمن قوات التدخل السريع القادرة على الانتشار في مناطق النزاع خلال ساعات، وتنفيذ عمليات إنزال جوي في مناطق معادية للسيطرة على مواقع إستراتيجية.
وتتمركز الفرقة في قاعدة «فورت براغ» بولاية نورث كارولاينا، وتتبع للفيلق الـ18 المحمول جواً، وهو التشكيل المسؤول عن القوات الجاهزة للانتشار السريع في حالات الطوارئ والأزمات العسكرية حول العالم، وفق بيانات الجيش الأمريكي.
ويبلغ قوام الفرقة ما بين 15 ألفاً و20 ألف جندي، وتتكون من عدة ألوية، أبرزها 3 ألوية قتالية، إضافة إلى لواء مدفعية، ولواء طيران قتالي، ولواء دعم لوجستي، أما اللواء القتالي الواحد داخل الفرقة، فيراوح عدد أفراده عادة بين نحو 3 آلاف و4 آلاف جندي، وهو وحدة قتالية متكاملة يمكنها تنفيذ عمليات مستقلة دون الحاجة إلى نشر الفرقة كاملة.
وتتمثل المهمة الأساسية للفرقة في تنفيذ عمليات توغل، وهي عمليات إنزال جوي بالمظلات في مناطق قتال أو مناطق متنازع عليها للسيطرة على مطارات أو قواعد عسكرية أو موانئ تمهيداً لوصول قوات أكبر ومعدات ثقيلة لاحقاً.
Amid reports of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, the British newspaper "The Times" revealed extensive international movements led by the United Kingdom and the United States to regain control over international shipping lanes.
Objectives of the International Coalition
The newspaper reported today (Tuesday) that Britain is preparing to lead a new international coalition known as the "Hormuz Coalition," which aims directly to reopen and secure the Strait of Hormuz following a series of Iranian attacks and the planting of naval mines that have disrupted global trade and pushed oil prices to record levels.
The newspaper noted that London will deploy elite units specialized in mine clearance, which possess the latest global capabilities, to work alongside American and French forces to clear the strait and ensure freedom of navigation.
British Planners
The newspaper pointed out that the British Ministry of Defense has sent military planners to the U.S. Central Command headquarters for logistical and operational coordination, indicating that the coalition will focus in its initial phase on escorting commercial vessels and providing necessary protection for oil tankers leaving the Arabian Gulf.
For its part, The Guardian quoted a British Ministry of Defense official saying: We will hold a meeting of chiefs of staff from several countries regarding the protection of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
This comes at a time when American reports indicated that the United States is about to send thousands of additional troops to the region. American officials clarified that the reinforcements will include soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, an elite American force typically called upon in emergencies and major conflicts.
Officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, did not specify the location for the deployment of the troops in the Middle East or their arrival date, but ABC News reported that they are expected to be deployed soon after orders are issued.

The 82nd Airborne Division is one of the most prominent elite units in the U.S. Army, classified as rapid response forces capable of deploying to conflict areas within hours and conducting airborne operations in hostile territories to seize strategic locations.
