أعلن وزير الخارجية والمغتربين اللبناني يوسف رجي، اليوم الثلاثاء، أن بلجيكا قررت تخصيص خمسة ملايين يورو مساعدةً إنسانيةً عاجلةً للبنان، ستُقدَّم عبر صناديق الأمم المتحدة المعنية.
وقال الوزير اللبناني في منشور له عبر حسابه على منصة «إكس» إنه تلقى رسالة رسمية من نظيره البلجيكي ماكسيم بريفو، أبلغه فيها بقرار حكومة بلاده تقديم هذه المساهمة لدعم الجهود الإنسانية في لبنان، في ظل الظروف الاستثنائية الصعبة التي يمر بها البلد.
وأضاف رجي أن الوزير البلجيكي أكد تكليف سفير بلجيكا في بيروت بالتواصل المباشر مع السلطات اللبنانية المدنية والعسكرية لتحديد الاحتياجات الفعلية على الأرض، على أن يرفع تقريراً مفصلاً إلى بروكسل يُمكّن الحكومة البلجيكية من تحديد أوجه الدعم الإضافي الممكنة ضمن إمكاناتها.
وجدد بريفو، حسب الرسالة، «تأكيد الدعم الكامل» من بلجيكا للشعب اللبناني ولحكومته في مواجهة التحديات الإنسانية والاقتصادية الراهنة.
يأتي هذا الإعلان في وقت يعاني فيه لبنان من أزمة إنسانية حادة، إذ تجاوز عدد النازحين المليون شخص بسبب التطورات الأمنية والعسكرية الأخيرة في الجنوب والبقاع وبعض المناطق الأخرى، وتقدر الأمم المتحدة أن نحو 3 ملايين شخص في لبنان بحاجة ماسة إلى مساعدات إنسانية، بما في ذلك الغذاء والرعاية الصحية والمأوى والتعليم.
وتعاني البلاد أصلاً من تداعيات الانهيار الاقتصادي الذي بدأ عام 2019، إضافة إلى آثار النزاعات الإقليمية التي أدت إلى نزوح جماعي وأضرار واسعة في البنية التحتية.
وكانت الحكومة اللبنانية، برئاسة الدكتور نواف سلام، قد أطلقت خطة استجابة وطنية لعام 2026 تطلب تمويلاً دولياً يقدر بـ1.62 مليار دولار لتلبية احتياجات 1.5 مليون شخص على الأقل.
Lebanese Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister Youssef Raji announced today, Tuesday, that Belgium has decided to allocate five million euros in urgent humanitarian aid to Lebanon, which will be provided through the relevant United Nations funds.
The Lebanese minister stated in a post on his account on the "X" platform that he received an official message from his Belgian counterpart, Maxim Prevot, informing him of his government's decision to provide this contribution to support humanitarian efforts in Lebanon, amid the difficult exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing.
Raji added that the Belgian minister confirmed the assignment of the Belgian ambassador in Beirut to communicate directly with the Lebanese civil and military authorities to determine the actual needs on the ground, with the aim of submitting a detailed report to Brussels that would enable the Belgian government to identify possible additional areas of support within its capabilities.
According to the message, Prevot reiterated "Belgium's full support" for the Lebanese people and their government in facing the current humanitarian and economic challenges.
This announcement comes at a time when Lebanon is suffering from a severe humanitarian crisis, as the number of displaced persons has exceeded one million due to recent security and military developments in the south, Bekaa, and some other areas. The United Nations estimates that around 3 million people in Lebanon are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, including food, healthcare, shelter, and education.
The country is already suffering from the repercussions of the economic collapse that began in 2019, in addition to the effects of regional conflicts that have led to mass displacement and extensive damage to infrastructure.
The Lebanese government, headed by Dr. Nawaf Salam, had launched a national response plan for 2026, requesting international funding estimated at $1.62 billion to meet the needs of at least 1.5 million people.
