وصل وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي، اليوم (الأربعاء)، إلى جنيف، على رأس وفد سياسي وتقني للمشاركة في الجولة الثالثة من المحادثات بين إيران والولايات المتحدة.
ونقل التلفزيون الإيراني عن وزارة الخارجية قولها إن الوفد الإيراني التقى الليلة في جنيف وزير خارجية سلطنة عُمان بدر البوسعيدي، لمناقشة رفع العقوبات والملف النووي.
وذكرت وسائل إعلام إيرانية أن عراقجي سلم وزير خارجية عُمان مقترح إيران للاتفاق النووي، موضحةلقاء عراقجي والبوسعيدي وضع اللمسات الأخيرة قبل المحادثات وجرى استعراض وجهات نظر إيران بشأن العقوبات والملف النووي.
وقال وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي، إن بلاده مستعدة لكلا الخيارين الحرب أو السلام، مضيفاً: يمكننا التوصل إلى اتفاق أو صفقة استناداً إلى تفاهمات الجولة الثانية من المفاوضات مع أمريكا.
من جهته، قال نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جيه. دي فانس، إن الرئيس دونالد ترمب لا يزال يفضل الحل الدبلوماسي مع إيران، وإنه يأمل أن يأخذ الإيرانيون هذا الأمر على محمل الجد في مفاوضاتهم غداً (الخميس) مبيناً في مقابلة مع قناة «فوكس نيوز» أن «الرئيس كان واضحاً تماماً في القول إنه لا يُمكن لإيران أن تملك سلاحاً نووياً، وسيحاول تحقيق ذلك دبلوماسياً».
وكان المبعوث الأمريكي الخاص ستيف ويتكوف قد قال في اجتماع ، إن الإدارة الأمريكية تطالب بأن يظل أي اتفاق نووي مع إيران سارياً إلى أجل غير مسمى.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived today (Wednesday) in Geneva, heading a political and technical delegation to participate in the third round of talks between Iran and the United States.
The Iranian television reported that the Iranian delegation met tonight in Geneva with the Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr al-Busaidi, to discuss lifting sanctions and the nuclear file.
Iranian media mentioned that Araghchi handed the Omani Foreign Minister Iran's proposal for the nuclear agreement, clarifying that the meeting between Araghchi and al-Busaidi was to finalize details before the talks and to review Iran's views on sanctions and the nuclear file.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country is prepared for both options, war or peace, adding: We can reach an agreement or a deal based on the understandings from the second round of negotiations with America.
For his part, U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance said that President Donald Trump still prefers a diplomatic solution with Iran, and hopes that the Iranians take this matter seriously in their negotiations tomorrow (Thursday), indicating in an interview with Fox News that "the president has been very clear in saying that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, and he will try to achieve that diplomatically."
The U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff stated in a meeting that the U.S. administration demands that any nuclear agreement with Iran remain in effect indefinitely.
