بعد 6 ساعات من المفاوضات الثلاثية (وروسيا وأوكرانيا وأمريكا) التي استضافتها جنيف اليوم (الثلاثاء)، أكدت وسائل إعلام روسية اختتام الجولة الأولى من المفاوضات بشأن تسوية النزاع في أوكرانيا.
ونقلت وكالة «تاس» الروسية عن مصدر لم تسمّه قوله إن المفاوضات انتهت بعد 6 ساعات من المباحثات المكثفة، مبينة أنه لن تكون هناك تصريحات من رئيس الوفد الروسي عقب اليوم الأول.
وأضاف المصدر أن الوفود المشاركة في المفاوضات ستقدم تقارير إلى عواصمها حول الحالة الراهنة للحوار، في إشارة إلى أن المشاورات الداخلية ستستمر قبل استئناف المباحثات في اليوم الثاني المقرر، غداً (الأربعاء).
وبدأت المحادثات في تمام الـ1:56 مساء بالتوقيت المحلي في جنيف، وعُقدت خلف أبواب مغلقة في فندق «إنتركونتيننتال»، ورأس الوفد الروسي فلاديمير ميدينسكي، مساعد الرئيس الروسي.
وكان رئيس الوفد الأوكراني، مستشار الأمن القومي رستم أوميروف قد قال قبل بدء المحادثات إن هذه الجولة ستناقش قضايا الأمن والقضايا الإنسانية، موضحاً أن المفاوضات الثلاثية في جنيف ركزت على القضايا العملية وآليات الحلول الممكنة.
وأشار إلى أنه «تم إكمال أعمال المسارين السياسي والعسكري».
بدورها، نقلت وكالة «نوفوستي» الروسية عن مصدر في الوفد المشارك قوله إن المحادثات «شديدة التوتر».
وكانت مصادر دبلوماسية إيطالية، قد ذكرت أن ممثلين عن إيطاليا، وألمانيا، وفرنسا، وبريطانيا موجودون أيضاً في جنيف، ومن المقرر عقد اجتماع على هامش الاجتماع بين مستشاري الأمن القومي لهذه الدول والوفدين الأوكراني والأمريكي.
After 6 hours of trilateral negotiations (involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States) hosted in Geneva today (Tuesday), Russian media confirmed the conclusion of the first round of talks regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
The Russian news agency "TASS" quoted an unnamed source stating that the negotiations ended after 6 hours of intensive discussions, indicating that there would be no statements from the head of the Russian delegation following the first day.
The source added that the delegations participating in the negotiations would report back to their capitals on the current state of the dialogue, suggesting that internal consultations would continue before resuming discussions on the scheduled second day, tomorrow (Wednesday).
The talks began at 1:56 PM local time in Geneva and were held behind closed doors at the "Intercontinental" hotel, with the Russian delegation headed by Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to the Russian president.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation, National Security Advisor Rustem Umerov, stated before the talks began that this round would discuss security issues and humanitarian matters, clarifying that the trilateral negotiations in Geneva focused on practical issues and possible solutions.
He noted that "the work on both the political and military tracks has been completed."
For its part, the Russian news agency "Novosti" quoted a source within the participating delegation saying that the talks were "highly tense."
Italian diplomatic sources had mentioned that representatives from Italy, Germany, France, and Britain were also present in Geneva, and a meeting is scheduled to be held on the sidelines between the national security advisors of these countries and the Ukrainian and American delegations.
