أعلنت الحكومة السويسرية أمس (الأربعاء)، تعبئة نحو 5000 جندي من الجيش السويسري للمشاركة في تأمين قمة مجموعة السبع (G7) التي ستُعقد في مدينة بياريتز جنوب غرب فرنسا خلال الفترة من 15 إلى 17 يونيو 2026.
ووافق المجلس الفيدرالي السويسري على نشر الجيش لدعم إجراءات الأمن المخطط لها من قبل السلطات المدنية التي ستعقد في إيفيان ليه بان بفرنسا، مشيراً إلى أنه على الرغم من أن رؤساء الدول والمشاركين الآخرين في القمة سيُستضافون في الغالب على الأراضي الفرنسية، إلا أن نقطة الوصول الرئيسية ستكون عبر مطار جنيف الدولي.

وبحسب بيان صادر عن وزارة الدفاع السويسرية، فإن هذه القوات ستعمل تحت القيادة الفرنسية ضمن إطار اتفاق ثنائي طويل الأمد بين البلدين، وستتولى مهمات دعم لوجستي وأمني خارج الحدود الفرنسية مباشرة، بما في ذلك تأمين المناطق المحيطة بالموقع الرئيسي للقمة، ومراقبة الحدود الفرنسية-الإسبانية القريبة، وتوفير وحدات تدخل سريع وفرق قناصة ووحدات مضادة للطائرات المسيّرة.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم الجيش السويسري أن هذه هي أكبر عملية تعبئة خارجية للجيش السويسري منذ مشاركته في حفظ السلام في كوسوفو قبل أكثر من عقدين، مشيراً إلى أن التعبئة ستتم على مراحل بدءاً من أبريل 2026، وستشمل تدريبات مشتركة مكثفة مع القوات الفرنسية والألمانية.
وستشهد قمة مجموعة السبع 2026 مشاركة قادة الدول السبع (الولايات المتحدة، ألمانيا، بريطانيا، فرنسا، إيطاليا، كندا، اليابان)، إضافة إلى ضيوف مثل رئيس الاتحاد الأوروبي، ورئيس الوزراء الهندي، ورئيس الوزراء الأسترالي.
ورغم سياسة الحياد السويسري التقليدية، فإن الدستور السويسري يسمح بمشاركة القوات المسلحة في مهمات خارجية بموافقة البرلمان إذا كانت ضمن إطار حفظ السلام أو دعم حليف.
وكانت سويسرا قد وقّعت اتفاقاً أمنياً مع فرنسا منذ 2012 يسمح بمثل هذه المشاركات، وقد سبق أن أرسلت قوات دعم لقمة G7 في بياريتز عام 2019 حوالى 1300 جندي.
The Swiss government announced yesterday (Wednesday) the mobilization of around 5,000 soldiers from the Swiss army to participate in securing the G7 summit, which will be held in Biarritz, southwestern France, from June 15 to 17, 2026.
The Swiss Federal Council approved the deployment of the army to support the security measures planned by the civil authorities that will take place in Évian-les-Bains, France, noting that although the heads of state and other participants in the summit will mostly be hosted on French territory, the main access point will be through Geneva International Airport.

According to a statement issued by the Swiss Ministry of Defense, these forces will operate under French command within the framework of a long-term bilateral agreement between the two countries, and will undertake logistical and security support missions outside French borders directly, including securing the areas surrounding the main summit site, monitoring the nearby French-Spanish border, and providing rapid response units, sniper teams, and anti-drone units.
The spokesperson for the Swiss army clarified that this is the largest external mobilization of the Swiss army since its participation in peacekeeping in Kosovo over two decades ago, noting that the mobilization will occur in phases starting from April 2026 and will include intensive joint training with French and German forces.
The G7 summit in 2026 will see the participation of the leaders of the seven countries (the United States, Germany, Britain, France, Italy, Canada, Japan), in addition to guests such as the President of the European Union, the Indian Prime Minister, and the Australian Prime Minister.
Despite Switzerland's traditional policy of neutrality, the Swiss constitution allows the armed forces to participate in foreign missions with parliamentary approval if they are within the framework of peacekeeping or supporting an ally.
Switzerland signed a security agreement with France in 2012 that permits such participations, and it had previously sent support troops to the G7 summit in Biarritz in 2019, comprising around 1,300 soldiers.
