نفى وزير خارجية إيران عباس عراقجي، اتصاله بالمبعوث الأمريكي الخاص ستيف ويتكوف خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية أو طلبه إجراء مفاوضات.
لاطلب للتفاوض
وقال عراقجي لوسائل إعلام رسمية، اليوم(الأربعاء)، «لم يكن هناك أي اتصال بيني وبين ويتكوف في الأيام القليلة الماضية، ولم نتلق أي طلب للتفاوض»، كاشفا أن وسطاء مختلفين يجرون مشاورات ويتواصلون مع طهران.
ودعا عراقجي واشنطن إلى «التخلي عن التهديد والمغالاة وطرح القضايا غير المنطقية، حيث إن للمفاوضات أصولها الخاصة».
وقال: «يجب أن تتم المفاوضات من موقع متكافئ وعلى أساس الاحترام المتبادل وتحقيق المصالح المتبادلة. أما إذا أراد طرف ما أن يحقق أهدافه من طرف واحد باستخدام القوة، فهذا أمر غير ممكن».
وشدد وزير الخارجية الإيراني، على أنه لا يمكن أن تنسجم المفاوضات مع التهديد، ويجب أن تجري في ظروف يتخلى فيها الطرف الآخر عن التهديدات والمطالب المبالغ فيها.
وكانت طهران أفصحت هذا الأسبوع عن وجود قناة اتصال مفتوحة بين عراقجي وويتكوف رغم انقطاع العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين البلدين.
حاملة الطائرات في الشرق الأوسط
في غضون ذلك، تمركزت قوة ضاربة تابعة للبحرية الأمريكية تقودها حاملة طائرات في الشرق الأوسط، الثلاثاء، وأكدت إيران عزمها الرد على أي هجوم، في حين أعرب الرئيس دونالد ترمب عن اعتقاده بأن طهران ما زالت تسعى للحوار.
وأعلنت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية «سنتكوم» وصول مجموعة ضاربة بقيادة حاملة الطائرات الأمريكية «أبراهام لينكولن» إلى المياه الإقليمية للشرق الأوسط، من دون الكشف عن موقعها الدقيق.
ومنذ اندلاع شرارة الاحتجاجات في إيران، أرسل ترمب إشارات متضاربة بشأن ما إذا كان سيتدخل أم لا. وقال في مقابلة مع موقع «أكسيوس»، الإثنين: «لدينا أسطول كبير قرب إيران، أكبر من الأسطول قرب فنزويلا»، ملمحاً بذلك إلى العملية العسكرية التي نفذتها قواته في فنزويلا، وأسفرت عن اعتقال الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو. وأضاف «إنهم يريدون التوصل إلى اتفاق. أعلم ذلك. اتصلوا عدة مرات. يريدون الحوار».
ترمب يرفض بحث الخيارات
من جانبه، نقل موقع «أكسيوس» عن مسؤول أمريكي رفيع قوله «في حال أرادوا التواصل معنا، وهم يعرفون الشروط، سنتباحث». وذكر موقع «أكسيوس» أن ترمب رفض مناقشة الخيارات التي قدمها له فريق الأمن القومي، أو تحديد ما يحبِّذ منها.
وحسب مختصين، فإنن الخيارات تشمل شن ضربات على منشآت عسكرية أو تنفيذ عمليات استهدافية ضد القادة وعلى رأسهم المرشد علي خامنئي.
وكشفت صحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» بأن ترمب تلقى تقارير استخباراتية عدة «تشير إلى أن موقف الحكومة الإيرانية يضعف»، وتفيد بأن قبضتها على السلطة باتت «في أضعف حالاتها».
The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied having contacted the U.S. special envoy Steve Wietkoff in recent days or requesting negotiations.
No request for negotiation
Araghchi told official media today (Wednesday), "There has been no contact between me and Wietkoff in the past few days, and we have not received any request for negotiations," revealing that various mediators are conducting consultations and communicating with Tehran.
Araghchi called on Washington to "abandon threats and exaggerations and to present reasonable issues, as negotiations have their own principles."
He stated, "Negotiations must take place from an equal position and based on mutual respect and achieving mutual interests. If one party wants to achieve its goals unilaterally using force, that is not possible."
The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized that negotiations cannot be consistent with threats and must occur in conditions where the other party abandons threats and exaggerated demands.
This week, Tehran revealed the existence of an open communication channel between Araghchi and Wietkoff despite the severed diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Aircraft Carrier in the Middle East
Meanwhile, a U.S. naval strike force led by an aircraft carrier has been stationed in the Middle East, and Iran confirmed its intention to respond to any attack, while President Donald Trump expressed his belief that Tehran is still seeking dialogue.
The U.S. Central Command "CENTCOM" announced the arrival of a strike group led by the U.S. aircraft carrier "Abraham Lincoln" in the territorial waters of the Middle East, without disclosing its exact location.
Since the outbreak of protests in Iran, Trump has sent mixed signals about whether he would intervene or not. In an interview with Axios on Monday, he said, "We have a large fleet near Iran, larger than the fleet near Venezuela," alluding to the military operation carried out by his forces in Venezuela, which resulted in the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro. He added, "They want to reach an agreement. I know that. They have called several times. They want dialogue."
Trump Refuses to Discuss Options
For his part, Axios reported a senior U.S. official as saying, "If they want to communicate with us, they know the conditions; we will negotiate." Axios mentioned that Trump refused to discuss the options presented to him by the National Security team or specify which ones he prefers.
According to specialists, the options include launching strikes on military facilities or conducting targeted operations against leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The New York Times revealed that Trump received several intelligence reports "indicating that the Iranian government's position is weakening," suggesting that its grip on power has become "at its weakest state."
