أطلع الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون مسؤولين عرب ودوليين على التحضيرات الجارية لانعقاد مؤتمر دعم الجيش اللبناني وقوى الأمن الداخلي المقرر عقده في العاصمة باريس في الخامس من شهر مارس القادم، ويفتتحه الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون.
واتفق المجتمعون خلال لقاء في قصر بعبدا ، اليوم(الأربعاء)، على إجراء الاتصالات اللازمة لتأمين أوسع مشاركة دولية ممكنة في المؤتمر، الذي يهدف إلى توفير تمويل دولي وتجهيزات ومعدات متقدمة للجيش اللبناني، وبرامج تدريبية تسهم في تعزيز جاهزيته وقدرته على أداء مهامه بكفاءة عالية.
ويأتي المؤتمر في إطار جهود مستمرة لتعزيز الدور الوطني للجيش اللبناني وحفظ الاستقرار الداخلي في لبنان، ويعكس التقدير الدولي لأهمية دعم المؤسسة العسكرية اللبنانية في مواجهة التحديات الأمنية والإقليمية الراهنة.
وشارك في الاجتماعمستشار وزير الخارجية السعودي الأمير يزيد بن فرحان، الموفد الفرنسي الوزير السابق جان ايف لودريان، السفير الأمريكي في لبنان ميشال عيسى، وسفراء السعودية وليد بخاري، ومصر علاء موسى، وقطر سعود بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني، وفرنسا هيرفيه ماغرو، ومساعد وزير الدولة لشؤون الخارجية القطري محمد بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني.
The Lebanese President Joseph Aoun briefed Arab and international officials on the preparations underway for the upcoming conference to support the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, scheduled to be held in the capital Paris on March 5, which will be opened by French President Emmanuel Macron.
During a meeting at the Baabda Palace today (Wednesday), the attendees agreed to make the necessary contacts to ensure the widest possible international participation in the conference, which aims to provide international funding, advanced equipment, and training programs that contribute to enhancing the readiness and capability of the Lebanese Army to perform its duties efficiently.
The conference comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the national role of the Lebanese Army and maintain internal stability in Lebanon, reflecting international appreciation for the importance of supporting the Lebanese military institution in facing current security and regional challenges.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Foreign Minister Advisor Prince Faisal bin Farhan, French envoy and former minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Aoun, and the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia Walid Bukhari, Egypt Alaa Moussa, Qatar Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, France Hervé Magro, and the Assistant Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
