عملية استباقية.. سورية تحبط تهريب صواريخ «سام-7» خارج البلاد

In a proactive operation, the Syrian authorities seized "SAM-7" missiles that were prepared for smuggling out of the country during a raid carried out by the Internal Security Directorate in the city of Al-Bukamal in the Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The Ministry of Interior reported in a statement via its Telegram channel today (Monday) that accurate information was received by the security directorate in Al-Bukamal indicating the concealment of anti-aircraft missiles inside one of the houses, in preparation for smuggling them out of the country. It stated that a thorough raid was conducted at the location, resulting in the seizure of "SAM-7" missiles.

According to the ministry, the seized weapons were confiscated, while the relevant authorities began their investigations to pursue all those involved with the aim of arresting them and bringing them to justice.

The Syrian News Agency "SANA" quoted the ministry confirming its continued efforts to confront all smuggling activities and illegal operations, and to take all necessary measures to ensure the country's security and stability.

On December 17 of this month, the Internal Security Directorate in the Zabadani area of the Rural Damascus Governorate thwarted an attempt to smuggle a shipment of weapons that was prepared for smuggling towards the Lebanese Republic, which included large quantities of "RPG" shells.

On the twentieth of this month, the Internal Security Directorate in Rural Damascus, in cooperation with the Internal Security Command in Daraa Governorate, carried out a qualitative security operation in the Qudsaya area, resulting in the arrest of five individuals for their involvement in smuggling weapons on behalf of groups operating outside the law in the Sweida Governorate and areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, as well as cells linked to the terrorist organization ISIS. They seized FPV drones, TNT explosives, and anti-personnel devices.
