في خطوة من شأنها مفاقمة التوترات في الأراضي الفلسطينية، صادقت سلطة الاحتلال ممثلة في المجلس الوزاري الإسرائيلي المصغر على خطة لإنشاء 19 مستوطنة جديدة في الضفة الغربية المحتلة.
وذكرت قناة 14 الإسرائيلية، اليوم (الأحد)، أن الخطة تشمل توسيع نطاق الاستيطان وتعزيز الوجود الإسرائيلي في مناطق عدة بالضفة.
ويجىء الإعلان عن المستوطنات الجديدة وسط انتقادات دولية متصاعدة لسياسات التوسع الاستيطاني، التي تُعدّ مخالفة للقانون الدولي، وسط تحذيرات من تداعياتها على فرص الحل السياسي وإقامة دولة فلسطينية مستقلة.
وأعلنت حركة «السلام الآن» الإسرائيلية، أن نحو نصف مليون مستوطن يقيمون في مستوطنات بالضفة الغربية المحتلة، في حين يقيم نحو 250 ألف مستوطن في مستوطنات مقامة على أراضي القدس الشرقية.
وكانت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية، كشفت عن بناء مستوطنين أكثر من 140 بؤرة استيطانية في الضفة المحتلة منذ مجيء حكومة بنيامين نتنياهو قبل 3 سنوات.
ومن شأن زيادة الاستيطان بالضفة المحتلة إنهاء إمكانية تنفيذ مبدأ حل الدولتين المنصوص عليه في قرارات صدرت عن الأمم المتحدة.
وتحدثت صحيفة «هآرتس»عن تخصيص الحكومة الإسرائيلية سرا موازنة مقدارها نحو 850 مليون دولار لدعم الاستيطان وتعزيزه في السنوات الخمس القادمة.
ووفق تحقيق أجرته هيئة البث الإسرائيلية، فإن قيادات في جيش الاحتلال توفر الحماية للمستوطنين، وكشف التحقيق أن ساسة إسرائيليين وعلى رأسِهم سموتريتش وقادةُ المستوطنين أقاموا خلال 3 سنوات 140 بؤرة استيطانية؛ آخرها كان التصديق على نحو 700 وحدة في مستوطنات حول القدس وبيت لحم.
In a move that is likely to exacerbate tensions in the Palestinian territories, the occupying authority, represented by the Israeli security cabinet, has approved a plan to establish 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli Channel 14 reported today (Sunday) that the plan includes expanding settlement activities and strengthening the Israeli presence in several areas of the West Bank.
The announcement of the new settlements comes amid rising international criticism of settlement expansion policies, which are considered a violation of international law, alongside warnings about their implications for political solutions and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The Israeli movement "Peace Now" announced that nearly half a million settlers live in settlements in the occupied West Bank, while about 250,000 settlers reside in settlements built on land in East Jerusalem.
Israeli media revealed that settlers have established more than 140 settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank since Benjamin Netanyahu's government took office three years ago.
Increasing settlement activity in the occupied West Bank could end the possibility of implementing the two-state solution principle as outlined in resolutions issued by the United Nations.
The newspaper "Haaretz" reported that the Israeli government secretly allocated a budget of approximately $850 million to support and enhance settlement activities over the next five years.
According to an investigation by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, leaders in the occupying army provide protection for settlers, and the investigation revealed that Israeli politicians, led by Smotrich and settlement leaders, have established 140 settlement outposts over the past three years; the latest being the approval of about 700 units in settlements around Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
