استدعت الحكومة السويدية، اليوم (الجمعة)، السفير الإيراني في السويد في ضوء معلومات تفيد بأن حكماً بالإعدام صدر في طهران على مواطن سويدي.
وقالت وزيرة الخارجية السويدية ماريا مالمر ستينرغارد، خلال مؤتمر صحفي: «نحن نعارض ذلك دائماً، في كل مكان وبغضّ النظر عن الظروف، وهذا أمر معروف جيداً، لذلك استدعت وزارة الخارجية، الأربعاء، السفير الإيراني لإبلاغه احتجاجاتنا على هذا الحكم»، ولفتت إلى أن هذه المعلومات لم تُؤكَّد بعد.
وذكرت الخارجية السويدية، في بيان، أن الوزارة بالتعاون مع سفارة السويد في طهران، على تواصل مع عائلة الشخص المعتقل، وأنه يملك محامياً يتولى الدفاع عنه أمام المحكمة. وأضاف البيان: «احتراماً للسرية.. ولعدم إعاقة عملنا، لن نقدم مزيداً من التفاصيل».
وكانت السلطة القضائية الإيرانية أعلنت، الثلاثاء، صدور حكم بالإعدام بحق مواطن مزدوج الجنسية السويدية-الإيرانية بتهمة «التجسس» لصالح إسرائيل بعدما تم اعتقاله خلال حرب الـ12 يوماً الأخيرة في يونيو الماضي.
وقال المتحدث باسم السلطة القضائية الإيرانية أصغر جهانغير إن المتهم حصل على الجنسية السويدية عام 2020، مضيفاً أنه دخل إيران قبل شهر من اندلاع الحرب مع إسرائيل، وأقام في فيلا بضاحية مدينة كرج.
وأعلن أن عملية توقيفه جرت في اليوم الرابع من الحرب التي بدأت في 13 يونيو الماضي.
وبعد حرب يونيو الماضي بين إسرائيل وإيران، ارتفع عدد الأشخاص الذين أُعدموا في إيران بتهمة التجسس لصالح إسرائيل.
وكان بابك شهبازي، الذي اعتقل وحوكم قبل عامين بتهمة التجسس لإسرائيل، أُعدم في 17 سبتمبر الماضي، وأُعدم شخص آخر في 29 سبتمبر بتهمة كونه جاسوساً معتمداً لدى إسرائيل.
The Swedish government summoned the Iranian ambassador to Sweden today (Friday) in light of information indicating that a death sentence has been issued in Tehran against a Swedish citizen.
Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard stated during a press conference: "We always oppose this, everywhere and regardless of the circumstances, and this is well known. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian ambassador on Wednesday to inform him of our protests against this ruling," noting that this information has not yet been confirmed.
The Swedish Foreign Ministry mentioned in a statement that the ministry, in cooperation with the Swedish Embassy in Tehran, is in contact with the family of the detained individual, and that he has a lawyer representing him in court. The statement added: "Out of respect for confidentiality and to avoid hindering our work, we will not provide further details."
The Iranian judiciary announced on Tuesday that a death sentence has been issued against a dual Swedish-Iranian citizen on charges of "espionage" for Israel after he was arrested during the recent 12-day war in June.
Iranian judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir stated that the accused obtained Swedish citizenship in 2020, adding that he entered Iran a month before the outbreak of the war with Israel and stayed in a villa in the suburb of Karaj.
He announced that the arrest took place on the fourth day of the war, which began on June 13.
After the June war between Israel and Iran, the number of people executed in Iran on charges of espionage for Israel has increased.
Babak Shahbazi, who was arrested and tried two years ago on charges of espionage for Israel, was executed on September 17, and another person was executed on September 29 on charges of being an accredited spy for Israel.
