انتقل إلى رحمة الله تعالى القاص والأديب عقيلي بن عبدالغني الغامدي، في مدينة الطائف، وصُلّي عليه ودُفن اليوم بمحافظة الطائف.
والفقيد من مواليد رغدان بمنطقة الباحة عام 1365هـ، بدأ مسيرته المهنية معلماً، ثم التحق بالكلية المتوسطة بمكة المكرمة وتخرج فيها، وعمل في سلك التعليم بين الباحة والطائف، قبل انتقاله إلى مجال الإدارة المدرسية بمحافظة الطائف، حيث تولى إدارة مدرسة الأبناء الابتدائية والمتوسطة بسكن الضباط.
وعُرف الراحل بنقاء السريرة، وسماحة النفس، وطيب المعشر، واتساع ثقافته، وكان من المهتمين بالأدب القصصي كتابةً وروايةً، وأثرى الساحة الثقافية بعدد من الإصدارات الأدبية والتوثيقية، من أبرزها مجموعتا «الأخطبوط والمستنقع» و**«شجرة الليمون»**، كما أصدر عام 1431هـ كتاب «المعلامة» الذي وثّق من خلاله قصة التعليم في منطقة الباحة عبر سرد قصصي استعرض واقع الحياة القروية خلال السبعينات والثمانينات الهجرية.
كما صدر له كتاب «توثيق لإصدارات الطائف من عام 1396هـ إلى 1424هـ»، وكتاب «نادي الطائف الأدبي الثقافي.. 37 عاماً من العطاء»، تاركاً إرثاً أدبياً وتوثيقياً يعكس اهتمامه بالثقافة والتعليم وتاريخ الحركة الأدبية.
«عكاظ» التي آلمها النبأ، تتقدم بخالص التعازي والمواساة إلى أسرة الفقيد، سائلة الله أن يتغمده بواسع رحمته، ويسكنه فسيح جناته.إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون.
The storyteller and writer Aqili bin Abdulghani Al-Ghamdi has passed away to the mercy of Allah in the city of Taif, and he was prayed upon and buried today in the Taif Governorate.
The deceased was born in Raghadan in the Al-Baha region in the year 1365 AH. He began his professional career as a teacher, then joined the intermediate college in Mecca and graduated from it. He worked in the field of education between Al-Baha and Taif before moving to the field of school administration in the Taif Governorate, where he managed the Al-Abna'a Primary and Intermediate School at the officers' housing.
The late was known for his pure heart, generosity of spirit, good company, and broad culture. He was among those interested in narrative literature, both in writing and storytelling, and enriched the cultural scene with a number of literary and documentary publications, the most notable of which are the collections "The Octopus and the Swamp" and **"The Lemon Tree"**. He also published in 1431 AH the book "Al-Ma'lamah," in which he documented the story of education in the Al-Baha region through a narrative that showcased the reality of rural life during the 1970s and 1980s AH.
Additionally, he published the book "Documentation of Taif Publications from 1396 AH to 1424 AH," and the book "Taif Literary and Cultural Club... 37 Years of Giving," leaving behind a literary and documentary legacy that reflects his interest in culture, education, and the history of the literary movement.
"Okaz," which was saddened by the news, extends its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, asking Allah to envelop him in His vast mercy and grant him a place in His spacious gardens. Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return.
