اتهم رئيس الوزراء البريطاني السابق بوريس جونسون، هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية (بي بي سي) بتزوير مقطع فيديو للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بطريقة تُظهره وكأنه حرّض على أعمال شغب، رغم أنه لم يقل أي شيء من هذا القبيل.
وكتب جونسون على حسابه في «إكس»: «هذا عار كامل، لقد عدّلت (بي بي سي) لقطات لترمب لتبدو وكأنه حرّض على أعمال شغب، بينما لم يفعل ذلك في الحقيقة» مشدداً بالقول: لدينا هيئة البث الوطنية البريطانية تستخدم برنامجها الرئيسي لنشر أكاذيب واضحة عن أقرب حليف لبريطانيا.
وتساءل جونسون بالقول: هل سيتحمل أحد في بي بي سي المسؤولية ويستقيل؟.
وكانت صحيفة ذاى تليجرف قد نشرت تحت عنوان: تسع طرق ضللت بها «بي بي سي» المشاهدين بشأن ترمب، ذكرت فيها أن هناك مخالفات في طريقة عرض القناة البريطانية لتغطية خطابات ترمب.
وتثير هذه الانتقادات جدلاً واسعاً في بريطانيا حول مصداقية الإعلام العام، خصوصاً مع الاتهامات المتكررة الموجهة لـ«بي بي سي» بالتحيّز في تغطيتها للأحداث السياسية داخل البلاد وخارجها، ولم تصدر الهيئة أي تعليق رسمي على اتهامات جونسون، لكن مراقبين يرون أن الهجوم يأتي في سياق التوتر المتزايد بين التيار المحافظ البريطاني وبعض وسائل الإعلام، خصوصاً في القضايا المرتبطة بالولايات المتحدة وإدارة ترمب.

Johnson questioned: "Will anyone at the BBC take responsibility and resign?"
The Telegraph published an article titled: "Nine Ways the BBC Misled Viewers About Trump," which mentioned that there were violations in the way the British channel presented coverage of Trump's speeches.
These criticisms have sparked widespread debate in Britain about the credibility of public media, especially with the repeated accusations directed at the BBC of bias in its coverage of political events both domestically and internationally. The corporation has not issued any official comment on Johnson's accusations, but observers believe that the attack comes in the context of increasing tension between the British conservative movement and some media outlets, particularly regarding issues related to the United States and the Trump administration.
