انتهت القمة بين الرئيسين الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ونظيره الصيني شي جين بينج، اليوم الخميس، في بوسان بكوريا الجنوبية، بعد ساعة و40 دقيقة. وخرج الرئيسان من القاعة سوياً، وتصافحا، قبل أن يستقلا سيارتيهما لمغادرة مكان الاجتماع.
وسعى الزعيمان في القمة التي عقدت على هامش الاجتماع الثاني والثلاثين لمنتدى التعاون الاقتصادي لآسيا والمحيط الهادئ أبيك (APEC)، إلى محاولة حل أشهر من التوترات التجارية بين البلدين.
ومن المنتظر أن يبقى شي في كوريا الجنوبية لحضور اجتماعات قمة أبيك، فيما ينتظر أن يغادر ترمب على متن طائرته الرئاسية، منهياً جولة آسيوية استغرقت نحو 5 أيام.
واستمرّت القمة لمدة أقصر قليلاً مقارنةً بالقمم السابقة رفيعة المستوى بين زعيمي البلدين على هامش الفعاليات متعددة الأطراف. فقد كانت اللقاءات السابقة التي عُقدت على هامش قمم مثل «أبيك»، و«مجموعة العشرين» تدوم أكثر من ساعتين، ووصل بعضها إلى 4 ساعات.
قنوات اتصال مفتوحة
وأعلن الرئيس الصيني أنه اتفق مع نظيره الأمريكي على إبقاء قنوات التواصل مفتوحة، لافتا إلى أن فريقي البلدين بحاجة إلى وضع اللمسات النهائية لمخرجات اجتماعه مع ترمب.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام رسمية عن شي أنه دعا فرق الاقتصاد والتجارة في البلدين إلى تضييق قائمة المشاكل باستمرار وتوسيع آفاق التعاون، مشيراً إلى أن بلاده تعمل على تعزيز الإصلاحات وتوسيع الانفتاح والتفاعل بشكل إيجابي على الصعيدين الإقليمي والدولي، وتجنب الوقوع في دوامة الإجراءات الانتقامية.
وقال شي إن لدى الجانبين آفاقا جيدة لمكافحة الاحتيال في مجال الاتصالات وغسيل الأموال والتعاون والذكاء الاصطناعي، ومكافحة الهجرة غير الشرعية.
وأضاف أنه ينبغي على الصين والولايات المتحدة تجنب الانجرار إلى «حلقة مفرغة من التراشق بالإجراءات والإجراءات المضادة».
علاقات إيجابية على الساحة الدولية
ودعا الرئيس الصيني واشنطن وبكين إلى صون التوافق ومتابعته، مؤكدا أن الصين لم تحاول قط تحدي أحد أو استبداله، وتركز على إدارة أعمالها بشكل جيد، قائلاً: يجب أن يكون للصين والولايات المتحدة علاقات إيجابية في الساحة الإقليمية والدولية والنظر في مصلحة التعاون طويل الأمد.

واعتبر شي أن العلاقات الصينية - الأمريكية تحافظ على الاستقرار الشامل، ويجب الحفاظ على التواصل بين القنوات والمستويات القديمة. الصين واثقة وقادرة على التعامل مع جميع أنواع المخاطر والتحديات.
ترمب يعلن خفض الرسوم
وكان الرئيس ترمب أعلن أنه سيتم خفض الرسوم الجمركية التي تفرضها الولايات المتحدة على الصين من 57% إلى 47، كاشفا التوصل إلى اتفاق بشأن المعادن النادرة مع نظيره الصيني شي جين بينج خلال لقائهما بكوريا الجنوبية.
وقال للصحفيين على متن الطائرة الرئاسية، إن الاجتماع مع شي كان رائعاً، وإنه جرى خلاله اتخاذ الكثير من القرارات المهمة، لافتا إلى أنه يعتزم زيارة الصين في أبريل القادم، على أن يقوم نظيره الصيني بزيارة الولايات المتحدة في وقت لاحق لهذا التاريخ.
واعتبر أنه على مقياس من 1 إلى 10، فإن الاجتماع مع الرئيس الصيني كان 12، وذكر أن الرسوم الجمركية على الصين ستنخفض إلى 47% من 57%، كما سيتم خفض رسوم الفنتانيل الجمركية إلى 10% بأثر فوري.
The summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping concluded today, Thursday, in Busan, South Korea, after one hour and 40 minutes. The two presidents exited the hall together and shook hands before departing in their cars from the meeting venue.
The leaders sought during the summit, which was held on the sidelines of the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, to address months of trade tensions between the two countries.
Xi is expected to remain in South Korea to attend APEC summit meetings, while Trump is anticipated to depart aboard his presidential plane, concluding a five-day Asian tour.
The summit lasted slightly shorter than previous high-level meetings between the leaders of the two countries on the margins of multilateral events. Previous meetings held on the sidelines of summits like APEC and the G20 lasted more than two hours, with some extending to four hours.
Open Channels of Communication
Chinese President Xi announced that he and his American counterpart agreed to keep communication channels open, noting that the teams from both countries need to finalize the outcomes of their meeting with Trump.
State media reported Xi as saying he urged the economic and trade teams of both countries to continuously narrow down the list of issues and expand the scope of cooperation, pointing out that his country is working to enhance reforms, expand openness, and interact positively on both regional and international levels, avoiding a spiral of retaliatory measures.
Xi stated that both sides have good prospects for cooperation in combating telecommunications fraud, money laundering, artificial intelligence, and illegal immigration.
He added that China and the United States should avoid getting caught in a "vicious cycle of tit-for-tat measures."
Positive Relations on the International Stage
Xi called on Washington and Beijing to preserve and follow up on their consensus, emphasizing that China has never sought to challenge or replace anyone and focuses on managing its affairs well, stating: China and the United States should have positive relations on the regional and international stage and consider the long-term cooperation interests.
He stressed that dialogue is better than confrontation, and that trade and the economy should drive U.S.-China relations, clarifying that trade relations should be the cornerstone of their relationship.
Xi considered that U.S.-China relations maintain overall stability and that communication between channels and old levels should be preserved. China is confident and capable of dealing with all kinds of risks and challenges.
Trump Announces Tariff Reductions
President Trump announced that the tariffs imposed by the United States on China would be reduced from 57% to 47%, revealing that an agreement on rare earth minerals was reached with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping during their meeting in South Korea.
He told reporters aboard Air Force One that the meeting with Xi was fantastic and that many important decisions were made during it, noting his intention to visit China next April, with his Chinese counterpart expected to visit the United States later that year.
He rated the meeting with the Chinese president as a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10, mentioning that tariffs on China would decrease to 47% from 57%, and that fentanyl tariffs would be reduced to 10% effective immediately.
