أشاد ملك بلجيكا الملك فيليب بالجهود المكثفة التي بذلتها مصر بالتنسيق مع باقي الوسطاء، للتوصل إلى اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار في قطاع غزة، مؤكدًا أن تلك الجهود تمثل ركيزة أساسية في دعم الاستقرار الإقليمي وتعزيز فرص السلام.
جاء ذلك خلال لقائه الرئيس المصري عبدالفتاح السيسي، اليوم (الخميس)، بالقصر الملكي ببروكسل، على هامش مشاركته في القمة المصرية الأوروبية الأولى.
وبحسب بيان صادر عن رئاسة الجمهورية المصرية، أعرب ملك بلجيكا عن تقديره لزيارة السيسي التي تعكس عمق العلاقات التاريخية بين مصر وبلجيكا، سواء على المستوى الرسمي أو الشعبي، مشيدًا بما شهدته تلك العلاقات من تطور ملموس في مجالات التنسيق والتشاور السياسي خلال السنوات الأخيرة.
من جانبه، ثمن السيسي الموقف البلجيكي النبيل، ومواقف الملك فيليب الشخصية، في دعم الحقوق المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني، والذي تجسد في اعتراف بلجيكا بالدولة الفلسطينية.
كما أعرب السيسي عن تطلعه لمشاركة الملك فيليب في مراسم افتتاح المتحف المصري الكبير، المقرر في الأول من نوفمبر القادم، مؤكدًا أن حضوره يحمل دلالة خاصة في ضوء الاهتمام العميق الذي تكنّه بلجيكا للحضارة المصرية.
اللقاء تناول كذلك مستجدات الأوضاع الإقليمية، حيث تم التأكيد على ضرورة تسوية الأزمات بالوسائل السلمية وبما يضمن الحفاظ على سيادة الدول ووحدة وسلامة أراضيها ومقدرات شعوبها.
The King of Belgium, King Philippe, praised the intensive efforts made by Egypt in coordination with other mediators to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that these efforts represent a fundamental pillar in supporting regional stability and enhancing opportunities for peace.
This came during his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi today (Thursday) at the royal palace in Brussels, on the sidelines of his participation in the first Egyptian-European summit.
According to a statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, the King of Belgium expressed his appreciation for Sisi's visit, which reflects the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Belgium, both at the official and popular levels, praising the tangible development these relations have witnessed in the fields of coordination and political consultation in recent years.
For his part, Sisi valued Belgium's noble stance and King Philippe's personal positions in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, which is embodied in Belgium's recognition of the Palestinian state.
Sisi also expressed his hope for King Philippe's participation in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, scheduled for November 1st, emphasizing that his presence carries a special significance in light of Belgium's deep interest in Egyptian civilization.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the regional situation, where the necessity of resolving crises through peaceful means was emphasized, ensuring the preservation of the sovereignty of states and the unity and integrity of their territories and the destinies of their peoples.
