طوقت قوات الأمن السورية مخيماً يتخذه مقاتلون متطرفون فرنسيون مقراً لهم في شمال غرب البلاد، بعد أن تحصّن قائدهم الذي اتهمته بخطف فتاة، داخل المخيم ورفضه تسليم نفسه.
خطف فتاة
وأعلن قائد الأمن الداخلي في محافظة إدلب العميد غسان باكير في بيان، اليوم(الأربعاء)، تطويق المخيم الواقع بمنطقة حارم في ريف إدلب بالكامل وتثبيت نقاط مراقبة على أطرافه، بعد تلقي شكاوى عدة آخرها «خطف فتاة من والدتها على يد مجموعة مسلحة خارجة عن القانون بقيادة المدعو عمر ديابي».
وأفاد بأن قيادة الأمن الداخلي تسعى إلى التفاوض مع الخاطف لتسليم نفسه طوعاً للجهات المختصة، إلا أنه رفض، وتحصّن داخل المخيم، مؤكداً أن قوات الأمن ستواصل بحزم اتخاذ جميع الإجراءات القانونية والأمنية اللازمة لضمان إنفاذ القانون.
مقاتلون فرنسيون
وأكدت مصادر مطلعة اندلاع اشتباكات «خفيفة»، ليل الثلاثاء-الأربعاء، بين الأمن السوري والمقاتلين الفرنسيين في المخيّم القريب من الحدود مع تركيا. وذكرت أن الأمن السوري قام بفرض حصار على المخيم الذي يؤوي المقاتلين الفرنسيين لاعتقال عدد من الخارجين عن القانون.
وبحسب المصادر، ترتبط العملية الأمنية التي تستهدف مخيم المقاتلين الفرنسيين في حارم، بسعي دمشق لتسليم باريس عناصر فرنسيين مطلوبين من السلطات الفرنسية.
فرقة الغرباء
وتتخذ «فرقة الغرباء» التي يقودها المقاتل المتطرف الفرنسي السنغالي عمر ديابي المعروف بـ«عمر أومسن» من مخيم على أطراف مدينة حارم في شمال غرب سورية مقراً لها. ويقيم فيه عشرات المقاتلين الفرنسيين الذين يشتبه بمساهمته في تجنيدهم خلال سنوات الحرب السورية، مع أفراد عائلاتهم.
وقال جبريل المهاجر، وهو ابن ديابي لوكالة الأنباء الفرنسية عبر تطبيق «واتساب»: إن الاشتباكات بدأت بعد منتصف الليل وما زالت مستمرة، مضيفا أنها مرتبطة «برغبة فرنسا بتسلم فرنسيين اثنين من المجموعة».
يذكر أن ديابي، المصنّف من واشنطن إرهابياً دوليا، كان يعمل في مطعم في نيس في جنوب شرق فرنسا قبل أن ينتقل إلى سورية عام 2013، حيث قاد الفصيل الذي يضم شباناً فرنسيين غالبيتهم من منطقة نيس.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء الفرنسية عن شاهد عيان في بلدة حارم قوله: إن قوات الأمن تنفذ منذ الثلاثاء انتشاراً كثيفاً في المنطقة وفي محيط المخيم. وقال إنه شاهد آليات مزودة بأسلحة رشاشة تصل تباعاً إلى البلدة. ولفت إلى سماعه قصفاً متقطعاً خلال ساعات الليل ودوي انفجارات بين الحين والآخر، مضيفاً: «نلازم منازلنا مع الأطفال ولم نرسلهم إلى المدرسة».
The Syrian security forces have surrounded a camp used by French extremist fighters in the northwest of the country, after their leader, who has been accused of kidnapping a girl, fortified himself inside the camp and refused to surrender.
Kidnapping a Girl
The head of internal security in Idlib province, Major Ghassan Bakir, announced in a statement today (Wednesday) that the camp located in the Harem area of Idlib countryside has been completely surrounded and surveillance points have been established at its edges, following several complaints, the latest being "the kidnapping of a girl from her mother by an armed group outside the law led by the so-called Omar Diaby."
He stated that the internal security leadership is seeking to negotiate with the kidnapper to voluntarily surrender to the relevant authorities, but he refused and fortified himself inside the camp, confirming that the security forces will continue firmly to take all necessary legal and security measures to ensure the enforcement of the law.
French Fighters
Informed sources confirmed that "light" clashes broke out late Tuesday-Wednesday between the Syrian security forces and the French fighters in the camp near the border with Turkey. They mentioned that the Syrian security imposed a siege on the camp housing the French fighters to arrest several outlaws.
According to the sources, the security operation targeting the camp of French fighters in Harem is linked to Damascus's efforts to hand over to Paris French elements wanted by the French authorities.
The Strangers Brigade
The "Strangers Brigade," led by the French-Senegalese extremist fighter Omar Diaby, known as "Omar Omsen," has established its base in a camp on the outskirts of the city of Harem in northwest Syria. Dozens of French fighters, suspected of being recruited during the years of the Syrian war, along with their family members, reside there.
Jibril the Migrant, Diaby's son, told Agence France-Presse via WhatsApp that the clashes began after midnight and are still ongoing, adding that they are related to "France's desire to receive two French nationals from the group."
It is worth noting that Diaby, classified by Washington as an international terrorist, worked in a restaurant in Nice in southeastern France before moving to Syria in 2013, where he led the faction that includes young Frenchmen, most of whom are from the Nice area.
Agence France-Presse quoted an eyewitness in the town of Harem saying that security forces have been conducting a heavy deployment in the area and around the camp since Tuesday. He stated that he saw vehicles equipped with machine guns arriving successively in the town. He noted hearing intermittent shelling during the night and the sound of explosions from time to time, adding: "We are staying at home with the children and have not sent them to school."
