تحولت جنازة زعيم المعارضة الكينية رايلا أودينغا إلى مشهد دموي بعدما اندلعت اشتباكات عنيفة بين قوات الأمن وآلاف المشيعين أسفرت عن سقوط 4 قتلى على الأقل، وإصابة العشرات.
وأكدت قناتان تلفزيونيتان في كينيا أن 4 أشخاص قتلوا في العاصمة نيروبي (الخميس) بعدما أطلقت قوات الأمن النار والغاز المسيل للدموع لتفريق حشود تجمعت في ملعب مسجى به جثمان زعيم المعارضة الراحل رايلا أودينغا.
وكان أودينغا، الذي توفي عن عمر ناهز 80 عاما خلال تلقيه العلاج في الهند، شخصية مهمة في الحياة السياسة الكينية منذ عشرات الأعوام، إذ كان أحد رموز المعارضة وسجيناً سياسياً سابقاً، وترشح للرئاسة 5 مرات لم يفز في أي منها.
وفي مشهد موازٍ، اجتاح عدد من المشيعين مطار نيروبي الدولي قبل وصول الجثمان من الهند، ما تسبب بتعطيل مراسم الاستقبال الرسمية وتوقفت حركة المطار لنحو ساعتين.

Two television channels in Kenya confirmed that 4 people were killed in the capital Nairobi (on Thursday) after security forces fired live ammunition and tear gas to disperse crowds gathered at a stadium where the body of the late opposition leader Raila Odinga was laid.
Odinga, who passed away at the age of nearly 80 while receiving treatment in India, was an important figure in Kenyan political life for decades, being a symbol of the opposition and a former political prisoner. He ran for the presidency 5 times but did not win any of them.
In a parallel scene, a number of mourners stormed Nairobi International Airport before the arrival of the body from India, causing the official reception ceremony to be disrupted and halting airport operations for about two hours.
